Per ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bulls/post/_/id/19471/webber-carmelo-shouldnt-go-to-bulls)

As Carmelo Anthony prepares to decide on his NBA future in the next few weeks, Chris Webber says there's one team the New York Knicks star should cross off his list.

"If I'm Melo, I'm definitely not going to Chicago," Webber, a former NBA star and current TV analyst, said Wednesday on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on ESPN Radio. "That's just not the place to go. When D-Rose was healthy, they had terrible offense. [Coach Tom] Thibodeau is a great, great coach, but offensively you have to have an offensive-minded coach as well, someone who can adapt like a [Spurs coach Gregg] Popovich, who uses talent and not just harps on them that we're going to play hard every night. Everybody can play hard every night, but can you play with the IQ, can you play with smarts every night?"

Anthony has maintained that he plans to opt out of the final year of his contract and test free agency this summer. According to sources, Anthony has until Monday to tell the Knicks whether he plans to opt out.

New Knicks president Phil Jackson has said he'd like Anthony to opt in to the final year of his deal and become a free agent next summer. Free agency begins July 1.

The Bulls, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks are all teams Anthony would consider in free agency, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Webber thinks the Rockets are the sleeper in the Melo sweepstakes.

"If I'm Melo, and not just because his coach is my friend, I'm going to Houston," Webber said. "Dwight Howard doesn't want to be the No. 1. Everbody is on him, right? So now I have a better [Dikembe] Mutombo ... and he can score, so we don't need him to score. Second, I have [James] Harden. Harden averaged 25 points last year but seems to maybe disappear in the fourth quarter, especially in the playoffs. So now I have Melo who can go to that team, I can keep [Chandler] Parsons and trade [Omer] Asik and I can trade [Jeremy] Lin hopefully. If I can trade both of them and then keep Parsons, who is going to be the sixth man of the year coming off the bench.

"One thing about Melo's game that people don't appreciate: He's the best, in my opinion, bar none, catch-and-shoot guy in the league. Now, does he overdribble? He's probably the most overdribbling guy in the league, but if he has someone who can just pass and get him wide-open jump shots, I think that his whole game would change and he'd be known maybe for winning."

Anthony can make the most money ($129 million over five years) if he re-signs with the Knicks. If he signs with another team, Anthony can sign a maximum contract of $96 million over four years.

It's funny how he exposed his bias without being asked. :oldlol:

"If I'm Melo, and not just because his coach is my friend, I'm going to Houston," Webber said.
I didnt even think there was an agenda in this until I read that.

Im not a fan of Carmelos game but I actually think Houston would be better off with him than Harden. Having both would be a disaster.

I actually think the teams should consider a straight swap. Phil gets a high scoring 2 guard which hes had so much success with, Rockets get Carmelo who fits alongside Dwight and, amazingly, is actually the BETTER defensive player in the trade

You can never have too much talent. Why is it people dont understand stacked teams will hide flaws?

It is true. Nothing better than stacking the deck with actual talent. Although, Dwight, Melo, and Harden are slightly suspect in on way or another...

Im pretty sure that Melo, Harden and Dwight on the same team would be disastrous

Webber sounds like an idiot.

McHale is a shit coach and the west is a nightmare. Spurs,OKC, LAC, Gsw, Portland, Dallas, Grizz.....

Melo isn't going back out west people!

He's not even a good fit there. Not even touches for that trio.

Bulls are the fit clearly. Can they really land him? Gonna be extremely tough, but if he wants to win, stay in the East and join the Bulls. The pacers are unstable and the Heat are very touchable depending on roster tweaks.

Melo can be himself in Chicago and get as many touches as normal. Bulls need an elite scorer such as Melo.

If you can get him here and keep Taj, great. If a S&t went down and we kept both Butler and Gibson, Bulls have the scariest team in the East regardless of what the Heat do.

Bulls have to land him or it's certain doom for them.

Is Chris Webber trolling? What he described is the exact opposite of what Mchale is. Mchale doesn't harp in his players, he lets his stars like Harden run all over him. Mchales offense is jacking up bad threes all game long and isolating the ball :coleman:

In Chicago Melo will be playing with a star PG who orchestrates the offense and within a well defensive structured team to cover his defensive flaws. Let's be honest the Knicks deficiencies have shackled his game.

Shut the **** up, Melo is not a winning first option unless he's in a big 3 with Dwight & CP3. Also, fix your ****ing spelling, it's beyond atrocious.

damn niguh whatz wrong wit u?:lol You know damn well knicks had several injuries every year which didn't give Melo a fair chance to win as a first option. And you call yourself a knicks fan:coleman: have a lil faith man:biggums:

knicks would be contenders or champs if it weren't for those multiple injuries:coleman:
Neither stupidity nor obesity are considered injuries, buddy. You can't contend when Felton and JR Smith are the backcourt you finish your games with :coleman:

Melo should have stay with the Nuggets. Karl is a better coach than Woodson, and D'antoni.

Going to the bulls, would be horrible choice for melo.
He make ECF because east sucks, but he isnt getting a title in chicago.
Even more so, Rose no way will be same player.

Stop typing in moronic and face the truth, your team sucks and the only reason you have a chance at keeping Melo is because Melo himself doesn't seem to be all that into winning.

People still thinks that Rose would still be the same NBA player. Rose even had worst injuries than post 1998 Penny Hardaway. And Penny's IQ > Rose's IQ.

You are so shook I left you with no argument whatsoever. I'm sad for you, but there is still hope, even for lowlives like you.

A friend of mine was a Knicks fan too until not so long ago, when the following happened:

We were doing some charity work at this community kitchen and he was wearing his ugly Knicks hoody as usual. A homeless dude saw it and suddenly gave him this shockingly genuine look of sympathy and pity. We are talking about a guy who had nothing in life other than his pride, his memories and the clothes he was wearing. The guy walked around the kitchen table and gave my friend a fvcking hug! He looked at him again for the longest 10 seconds in the history of humanity and steadily walked away, most likely feeling fvcking great about his own life.

That same evening he became a Heat fan :pimp:  :applause:

Even if Rose comes back at 75% of what he was, he'd still be the best offensive player Melo's played with since AI. And the Bulls team, with a 75% Rose, is a threat to get to the ECF. But what are they lacking? Elite scoring, 3p shooting, play making. Last I checked, Melo checked all of those boxes. Pretty sure it's the most obvious "perfect fit" in a long, long time.

Obvious fit doesn't mean it will happen, though.

he should go to brooklyn, already been said but no way he would choose to compete in the west. just focus on beating the heat.
