View Full Version : How come LeBron doesn't do the "chalk toss" for his pre-game ritual anymore?

Is it true that he stopped doing after the 2011 Finals?

doing that without accomplishing anything impressive makes you look like a fool. He simply got embarrassed time and time again in the playoffs and finals and his teammates bailed him out time and time again. He's starting to realize this so he stopped being so cocky.

I'm surprised the broadcasters sitting at the tables didn't complain that he's making them breath in all that chalk he throws in the air above them. It's bad for the lungs.

And it was stupid as ****

Damn I literally totally forgot about that. It's one of those things that you "forget" someone stopped doing, until someone reminds you of it.

Just like how in the 90's, Conan O'Brien used to originally come out at the beginning during the intro and sort of do this funny type of strut walk. But at some point either in the late 90's or early 2000's, he started to just walk out totally normal. Can't remember if this was after Andy originally left or what.

Not sure if he still does his puppet/string dance thing he used to do. I know that was a thing too.

I remember him and Wade started doing a fake sparring match, but I dont remember when he stopped the chalk.

Pretty sure the NBA made it against the rules when they took away the pre-game rituals to "speed up the games".

Miami fans don't show up on time for it. It would look weird/awkward doing it in front of a bunch of empty seats.

Probably costing the organization too much chalk. They need to save every dollar to afford more help.
