I had it for 360, played it for awhile then got a ps4. ps4 version is wayyyyy better. it is the best option out tho, im tempted to buy nba live 14 just to see how bad it is.

it's all scripted. for just one example, it forces you to miss free throws in a game just so you have to practice them.

another example, it throws you in the 4th quarter and coach tells you to win. you can score 30 points here but it doesn't matter because 2k will make all of the other teams shots go in and after the game the coach will decrease your minutes for the team not winning.

plus they provide comeback ai to everyone who is down making online games almost unplayable even if they were playable in the first place (which they aren't cause of lag)

They don't allow the decision to pass or shoot interrupt any dribble moves, and the dribble moves each have like a three second dealy on them...

you can see where this is a problem. I go to crossover, defender is dropping back, okay, lets shoot, right?

nope. shot comes in three seconds later while contested and gets an F grade. This system also works horribly with 2k's laggy servers and makes shot timing basically impossible.

THIS. I absolutely HATE that that you can't download a roster and just save it to your hard drive on the PS4. I still haven't figured out how to download a roster, make the edits I want to make, then save it and use it in MyGM. And it takes FOREVER to download a custom roster when starting a new MyGM.

For example, to make sure it wasn't just me, I went to Operation Sports and found a roster I thought I wanted to try. I downloaded it and looked through it. I made a few edits, saved/uploaded it, then downloaded when I started a MyGM. Started looking at the rosters and realized they weren't the ones I had edited...or at least I didn't think they were, but I wasn't quite sure because I couldn't remember everyone's ratings. So I quit and edited Nate Robinson and made him 6'8" adn made Ty Lawson 6'8" just so I could try saving it again, downloading it while starting my MyGM, and have something concrete, that I could remember, to check. Didn't work. Nate Robinson was 5'9" and Ty Lawson was 5'11" or 6'0" or whatever.

Then there's the stupid hiring/firing/quitting coach glitch that causes players to inexplicably shrink or grow. I was 15 games into year two of a MyGM and Brett Brown just ups and quits. About 10 games later I notice MCW looks really short all of a sudden. Turns out he was 6'0", now, instead of 6'6".

I also hate that just a regular Association is gone. No more 30 team control which means really stupid draft picks and really f***ed up rotations. You have something like the Bobcats extending Al Jefferson during the season with a 4-year contract then spending the #3 pick in the draft on Joel Embiid. Or you have the Heat signing Andrew Bogut in the off-season, relegating Chris Bosh to the bench instead of just making him their starting PF because his designated position is "C", and playing him 10 minutes a game. Seriously, I played the Heat twice recently and noticed they had signed Bogut. Instead of just starting Bosh at PF, they start Battier at PF and bring Bosh off the bench. First time I play them Bosh plays 8 minutes. Second time I play them he plays 11.

And then there's LeBron who inexplicably opts out almost every time after the 2014 season and goes somewhere like Utah or Philly or Orlando....just one of the teams that will have the cap space for him basically. Right now in my 76ers MyGM he's playing for the Jazz.

2k14 on Xbox one is decent. I played through a full 82 game series and the park mode is kind of fun.

The fact that they made shotstick not the primary shooting control makes 2k14 my least favorite of all time. The Live series at its lowest (07) was pretty terribad.

2K is great once every 3 to 4 years. The game direction is off and for the past few years, the game has been frustratingly inconsistent on the gameplay. One year it will have porous interior defense, this year 3 pointers are out of control, and multiple years have unwanted forced animations that are maddening.

I think it would be hard to regulate who a team drafts and who they pick up on FA tho. Also a big star like lebron going to a smaller market team is hard also.

As for OP, the game isnt that bad. I never completed a full season in myplayer, currently in the finals, but it was fun. I really want nba live 15 to be good, 2k franchise doesnt seem to be getting better and I need a change :lol

EA doesn't give two shits about quality. Many of their games are released with tons of bugs and glitches and are clearly rushed.

Live is just completely hopeless. They canceled Elite 11 after the Jesus Bynum fiasco, didn't make a game in 2012, then they tried to reboot the series in 2013, but failed miserably and had to cancel it. I guess they figured they had to release SOMETHING this year.

I used to play Run and Gun at the arcade with my buddy. It was a two screen game that let you compete side by side. We had some epic games. One my favorite basketball games ever. Now I'm hooked on 2k13.

I give it a solid 8. Never (edit: rarely, let's say) had any issues with lag or control. It's mainly the fact that there are many drops still online and games that freeze and never start.

I think that Park shit was a great idea, and once they polish it a bit more, it'll be even better.

Next Gen 2k is about what you'd expect from it. I feel the same way I felt when I got 2k7 on PS3.

That's the only reason I get systems anymore is to play bball games. Admittedly, I played previous gen, too, so the only thing I play in next is Myplayer (to get VC and make new guys) or Park.

Could write about what's broken in it, but all in all, it's solid. I find the myplayer cutscenes hilarious. Yo rook, I called for the ball. Y U NO PASS? And I got my dude w/ the psychological personality badges so he's always banging with people and getting them upset, cutscenes with him jawing.

I don't regret it being my only ps4 gm.

Madden is complete shit. I bought it 2 years ago and nothing changed and many of the features were actually worse. I've played the newest one multiple times and the same cheese still exists on offense that has existed for nearly a decade.

NFL 2K5 was and still is a better football game than any Madden game. Period. Go watch some youtube gameplay of the franchise mode. It's so extensive and well thought out. You can watch sportscenter each week to get updates, at halftime of your games in franchise mode you get ESPN highlights from around the league and stats of other live games (within your franchise mode, not real games) with Chris Berman doing his entertaining commentary.

At the draft Mel Kiper goes through and grades each pick and talks about each prospect.

Plus the helmet cam was pretty cool, the house with all of the unlocked rewards was pretty cool, and the "play a celebrity mode" was pretty fun as well. The list goes on and on. 2K did a damn good job on NFL2K5 but has shit the bed on NBA2K14.
