Bynum, Odom, and Metta had better seasons then 2010 afterwards. This is irrelevant. Shit, the big 3 in San Antonio are most likely out of the league in 2-3 years.

At that time having even 2 all stars meant you had a stacked team.
So not only did you have two all stars but the lakers had Lamar Odom (who Lakers fans seem to always underrate) playing pretty good, Ron Artesr (former DPOY), you had Bynum playing as good as he's ever played in his entire career, and Jordan Farmar and Shannon brown playing as good as they've ever played in their careers.... so yes, that team was "stacked".

Oh yea and Phil Jackson was coach.

Metta with his feet made of bricks never got better.. We was lucky that he was able to keep em in check during 2010's playoff run.

I'm saying, Metta forgot to play basketball after 2010 :oldlol:

Maybe not Metta, but Lamar was definitely better in 2011.. and Lamar/Bynum matter.

Most pointless thread ever? 1996 Bulls were also "so stacked"

Jordan- Out of the league
Pippen- Out of the league
Rodman- Out of the league
Kukoc- Out of the league
Longley- Out of the league
Kerr- Out of the league
Harper- Out of the league
Phil Jackson- Doesn't even coach

Team was whack. 2014 Bucks would CRUSH them

They had one superstar, a great All-Star "#2" and solid role players. Nothing more, nothing less. They were hardly stacked though..... it's usually Kobe detractors who try to diminish him that overrate that cast. If they were so stacked than Kobe wouldn't have had to put up 30/6/6, 30/6/5 and 29/6/6 during the Lakers 3 straight Finals runs.

Odom w/o Kobe = crackhead.

Bynum w/o Kobe = amateur bowler

Gasol w/o Kobe = 0-16.

While Phil has just been banished to the worst franchise in the league...

To be fair, the guys the OP mentioned faded into irrelevancy IMMEDIATELY after leaving the Lakers.

Gotta give Ariza credit though. He's actually gotten better.

That back to back title team was maybe the least talented b2b champions of all time.

Kobe carried that shit like a boss.

Exactly, c'mon how hard is it to use context? But yeah, Ariza was a very good role player, much better fit than Artest was. Which is part of why I take the '09 team over the '10 team. Artest was still a pretty good defender, but his man defense meant little in a 2-4 series and he was a liability on offense, perhaps the worst starting SF on offense in the league.

Ariza sucked at Houston and New Orleans, he just recently found his own in Washington.

I agree they weren't stacked, but why do Kobe/Laker fans just ignore context and the fact that, in 2009 and 2010, there wasn't another contender in the NBA that had a top 2-3 as good as the Lakers. Yes, Kobe was the biggest reason why, but out of the other superstars/top 5ish players on contenders in the league, he also had the best second banana. Not to mention they had arguably the GOAT coach at the helm.

By the way, the OP's logic is laughably, embarrassingly awful.

Team was stacked to the heavens, no matter how much you wish they weren't. :oldlol: How many times over the last few years have we seen analysts call Lebron's teammates the Miami Cavs? Too many to count! Funny how I never heard anyone disrespect Kobe's supporting cast like that. Never did I hear anyone say "Kobe has to do too much for this team." You know why no one ever said that? Because his teams were STACKED!

No shit, everything else after all star IS a role player...

So Odom counts as well.. Meaning Mo Williams, LeBron's 2nd best, was a role player.. As Odom >>> Williams.

So LeBron played with a bunch of role players to fill out the roster huh? no shit
