The only time I've had a problem with Police was when I was in Florida. I was unaware that drinking a beer outside was illegal. Nearly got arrested. I was let of because I played the foreigner card.

The Police in England aren't great but they're on a power trip in the U.S. Feel sorry for you guys can't drink until 21 and you can't be outside.

After high school graduation my friend and his mother drove my mother and I home after we went out to eat. On the way home at about 10PM we got pulled over by Cincinnati Police. My mother and I are white, and my friend and his mother are black.

She wasn't speeding, drives a Trailblazer SUV.

She said something of the effect of "Hello Officer So-and-So, can I asked why I was pulled over? I'm just confused because I wasn't speeding."

He replied with, "Just a moment."

He went back to his squad car and appeared to just sit in the front sit for 1-2 minutes without looking up anything at all.
He didn't even turn his head to his right to look at his computer screen to run numbers or plates.

He came back and gave her her license back and said, "It'll just be a warning for now." and she replied, "A warning for what exactly?"

And he walked away.

She got pulled over because she was black pretty much.

This will probably blow your mind but in Australia the pigs are allowed to pull anyone over randomly, without probable cause. And not even at a checkpoint or anything. They can just pull you over in broad daylight when you are going to a grocery store.

I had an overseas license expired about a month and got nailed--had to get fingerprinted and shit like a criminal and a $400 fine.

That's messed up, you shouldn't need id to walk around. I mean when I drive obviously I have my license, but I don't take any id to go on jog or something

Personally never really had a major problem with the cops.

Last week got pulled over for going 73 on a freeway that was 60
$145 gone :(
Thought that was bs

Edit: there was tons of cars going faster than me. The cop just chose me

I was walking back from a store to my hotel. I was maybe 50 feet away and decided to open a beer. Took one sip and before I knew it I had a Police officer grab me by the arm and ask what I was doing. I guess I was technically in the street so I pointed at my hotel saying I was going to drink it by the pool but it didn't matter. They confiscated my entire supply :(

Better than being arrested I guess. Still sucked, bet they helped themselves to it after work.

Yeah, me too. I could have gotten in serious trouble a couple of times but the cops let me go. I think if you are young and look like you are a decent person a lot of cops will let you go, if you are doing something wrong but aren't harming anyone because they know young people are naturally dumb and don't want to screw up their future.

Where to start.

Perhaps the worst one occurred at a family 1st communion.

My friend's family had a 1st communion party at their home a while ago. There was kids, aunts, grandparents, etc.etc. He had a cousin from a gang on probation and the idiot got in an argument with his mom because he wanted to drink and she wouldn't let him. So he snuck to the corner liquor store and walked out with a 40. The liquor store clerk called the police on him and the police showed up at the party looking for him.

And this is when it starts...

A squad car shows up looking for the idiot but can't find him, we didn't see him come back but I think his mom lied to the cops and said he wasn't there. They start to ask us questions one by one. Now, it's only 5 of us young adults there, the rest are older family members and young kids. Two more cop cars show up, after the first squad finishes with us we thought it was all good. But now the two other squads decide they want to interrogate us, my cousin asks why if we were already asked... they push him to the floor and get the baton out. The others tell us to get on our knees with our hands to our heads and face the wall. They start to interrogate us again. Some of the family members start to ask questions (in Spanish) un happy with the treatment.

At this point the idiot cousin comes out and the cops start beating him outta nowhere. Somehow there's more cop cars, the mom starts to plead with the cops to stop beating him, there's kids crying, meanwhile now we're faced down. One cop puts his foot on my boy's head and threatens him with a baton. His uncles are being held and pushed by other cops because they were asking them to stop. One cop throws a 16 year old girl to the floor after she starts screaming at the cops to stop. And out of nowhere one of the cops knocks my friend's aunt to the floor and hits her with a baton, the place goes crazy with everybody screaming at each other. The family members become more aggressive and the cops become more aggressive even tho they were already controlling and holding everybody else. Children are crying and the cops threaten the kids to shut up. Cops are yelling at other cops because they knew they f*cked up. the cops at this point had beaten the idiot cousin subconscious and dragged him to the car.

The cops confiscated the cam corder they were using to film the party and it was inadmissible in court.

All of this was avoidable.

NONE of it was warranted.

Not to say that 'all' cops are bad.

But I've met a number of cops, and almost all of them were major douche bags with a power trip. I've met dudes that wanted to become cops and were the biggest assholes in the world. Waiting for the day that they could beat the shit out of people.

Cops are people too.

Power corrupts people.

What became of this? That's beyond sad.

The good cops get vilified by their own departments for being just that: good cops.
I don't trust the police; I have no sympathy for them; when a cop dies, I rarely (if ever) feel remorse; the bad cops outweigh the good cops; they are pretty much just a giant gang. All of them. They're gangsters. They have leaders in each city, they harass the public for their own means, they wear the same uniforms, they carry deadly weapons, they blindly defended one another and they are basically govt-funded terrorists.

This thread reminds me of the time my father, who is 70 and diabetic, was pulled over by this roided out asshole cop.

He was going 70 mph in a passing lane on I-90 near O'Hare. Obvious no-no so rightfully the cop got behind him and tried to pull him over. Now in the dark of night, it really catches you by surprise when a blinding light hits you through the rear view mirror. I don't know how it is elsewhere, but around here these cops will grab your attention by doing that just before they turn on the rest of their lights to pull you over. My father freaked out when that happened and swerved his car towards the right lane without realizing it but corrected himself in a split second when he realized what was going on.

Apparently this cop had gotten in the right lane by then and thought my dad was trying to run him off the road (which is impossible from that side since there's 2-3 more lanes over there). So once they finally stop, he gets out of the squad car, rushes over to my dad's car, and starts trying to pull him out by force as my dad is trying to take his seat belt off. Then he slams my dad against his car and starts handcuffing him while yelling something along the lines of how my dad was trying to run him off the road. He never read him his rights. Then he tells my dad he was going 85 in 55 speed limit, which is impossible if you know my dad. He nearly ****s his pants going at 75mph.

Anyway, there were other details about how he kept him handcuffed and shoved my dad with a rather large figure in a tiny car which caused a lot of bruising, and how the ****s at the county jail were being ****s about his medication (diabetes, hypertension, depression & anxiety). From what my dad could tell an elderly officer said something to the cop after which he filled out some paper work and let my dad go... at 1 am and 45 minutes from his house. He asked him to wait around because he didn't know the area and the cop just peeled off anyway.

At my dad's court date, the POS cop apparently broke his leg and wasn't available to testify so the whole thing was thrown out. We considered going after him for misconduct but the lawyer advised against it, and we were just too ****ing exhausted from the whole ordeal.
