Kawhi is definitely on his way more so defensively than offensively. He has all of the physical tools being lengthty, that ridiculous wingspan, foot speed and great instincts on top of that. I know the defense will be there and will only get better but I'm not sure how much he'll get to explode next year offensively with the way the Spurs run their offense and Parker still controlling the ball.

It's funny on that first play, I remember people say he took Ibaka's soul, but he really did KD a lot dirtier. That was one of the sickest spin moves I've ever seen because it was slow and it was like he turned into a gear. Was more of a football spin move... augh.

Holy shit, his footwork is a lot better than I initially thought. He could develop a pretty nasty post game down the road. Already has the spin move, up and under, he's got a hook, fadeaway, etc. The kid is a stud. I always knew he'd be a monster defensively, but his offensive game is surprising. On the surface his production looks average, but that's mostly from the Spurs system working to balance out everyone's production and give everyone shine. Pop mentioned after the playoffs he's going to make a concentrated effort to run the offense through Kawhi next season, and give him specialized plays. In 2-3 years I would be shocked if he's not a 20ppg+ scorer, he has all the tools to do it.

Kawhi is also 22 years old and rapidly getting better. Pippen at 22 was an 8/4/2/1/1 player..Kawhi is a Finals MVP. No point in comparing Kawhi now to prime Pippen.

The best thing about both his blocks and steals is how he manages to keep it in bounds and on many occasions, in his own vicinity for the quick turn over and fast break the other way. Incredible defensive awareness

* Scotie was an elite playmaker, Kawhi not so much.

* Scotie was GOAT (or almost) perimeter defender, Kawhi ceiling might be a bit higher than Tony Allen, i.e. arguably DPOY, but not GOAT level.

If anything, Kawhi is more All-star system player than a superstar talent.
