View Full Version : Is Lebron is the least confident and least competitive superstar in NBA history

as good as he is, he has shown the least confidence of any superstar i have every seen, from withdrawing from the dunk contest every year to passing up last second shots, it seems to me that he doesnt believe in his skills as someone like kobe or even wade. He says almost every year that he's going to enter the dunk contest just to pull out at the last minute, combine that with him trying to join the best players to avoid playing them makes it appear as though hes scared of competition and thats one thing all the other greats will always have over him. Other greats want to be pushed to their limits embrace competition while lebron wants to win easy

BUT BUT BRAN IS THE MOST ATHLETIC PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY... :confusedshrug: Yeah i got nothing.

In before pauk's I trust bran with the ball in the clutch cause of his decision making cause he knows what to do with the ball, LePass.

And let's not forget his epic fourth-quarter meltdowns in the NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 when he was afraid to shoot the ball and fully lacked any type of aggressiveness in fear of failure.

I had never seen the star of his stature become paralyzed with fear like that.

his proactiveness in cleveland was a great start to a legacy. his instant cruise control approach in miami made him forget how to be like that.

Lebron is obviously great, but op is right.

He is to passive. When young Jordan was totally outclassed by the celtics he scored 60+, and tried to win. He failed, but he tried.

Lebron is the ultimate front runner. When things are going well he is like a boulder rolling down hill. When things get tough though, he just stops trying

There's 96 records of unfathomable dominance that separates Wilt from Lebron in the regular season, and about what, 14 rebounds and 5 blocked shots in the post season? Also, Wilt's 2 titles were on 2 of the top 5 teams in NBA history, teams that also set NBA records.

He doesnt have that meanstreak unless u piss him off. Most of that is his personality. Hes so talented he doesnt have to work as hard

This year wasn't great. I understand heat were terrible, but if that was the case he should have said **** it, and shot 25 shots, go down shooting

Last year until game 7 wasn't great

game 5, 6, 7 was great
Eh, he was underwhelming during the majority of that series, pretty much an afterthought until the 4th quarter of game 6 where he was money until he turned the ball over twice, bricked a 3 pointer and was then saved by Jesus himself. He was great in game 7 though so it's not that big of a deal in terms of his legacy.

But without Lebron's production Ray Allen wouldn't have even gotten a chance to save Bran's ass?

Like if you put Kobe in place of Bran they would be losing by so much that a single shot can't do anything

Nah, I think it should be a split award between Ray Allen and Popovich for letting Bosh get the rebound instead of Duncan.

He's kinda like Shaq I think ... tremendous talent, but doesn't mentally have that extra gear to unlock it all.

Still a fantastic player, but I think we should also understand that the mentality that guys like Jordan and Bird have is also extremely rare. Not everyone is that way.

Shaq and Wilt weren't.

Yes .... he is the least confident and least competitive superstar in NBA history

LeBron's failure 2011 was EPIC in total.

No other player in history has failed in the fourth quarter of finals games at that level EVER.

It was at almost a total QUITTER level. I don't think you can ever recover from that

2010 and 2014 almost the same

You have to take into account what happened in the 2010, 2011 and 2014 playoffs in evaluating LeBron's career

Unmatched intensity, determination, supreme confidence, utter dominance over an entire great team.
