Inb4 box score and that Lebrons performance is underrated.
Lebron, prime of his career coming off a great ECF and just disappears
Wade played well in the ECF but we've seen his decline coming due to injuries and age

Bron considering expectations. I didn't expect Wade to put up 25/5/5 a night, but I sure as hell expected better than 15/4/3.
As far as level of play though? Wade was worse. Lebron actually did some good stuff on the court throughout most of the games, where as Wade after the first game was straight garbage. Lebron actually performed like a competent second option. The problem was he should have been performing like a first.

Definitely LeBron given the circumstances and using context. Wade has been declining for sometime now.... his knees are wearing down and his age is beginning to show. Plus, he's obviously had to take a backseat to LeBron the last 3 years, but at least the effort is still there from him and he still shows flashes of 2009 form. LeBron's performance vs Dallas was just unexplainable. That series will always be the the "black mark" on his resume. He basically checked out after game 2 and became a mental midget on both ends of the court, stopped playing the way that had helped Miami roll through the East playoffs and as a result, Miami's 2011 championship went down the drain against a team that everyone expected them to beat. Just an incredibly dreadful performance by a player with top 5 all-time potential that will be hard to ignore.

True, another thing that plays into it. Heat were expected to win that series.
Where as this year they weren't exactly a sure thing and were actually underdogs. Given Wade did play bad, even with him performing at his previous level, the Heat were tipped to lose.

Wade had an excuse because of his unhealthy knees and age.

Wade's was less productive, but Bron's was a bigger underperformance and the difference between winning and losing a title.
Even if Wade performed at the same kind of level as the Indiana series Miami probably wouldn't have had much of a chance of winning the series; if Lebron could've just managed 75% of his regular output Miami could've won that series in 4 or 5. So yeah, Bron's was much worse.

In a vacuum Wade's was worse but relative to expectations i'd say LeBron.
LeBron.
Wade had an excuse because of his unhealthy knees and age.
This. It's not just like LeBron tried but ended up playing poorly or something...he was so bad that people, to this day, still can't figure it out. It was just him going ghost on both ends of the floor. It looked like he just curled up, went into an shell and shut it down after Wade yelled at him in game 3. It's not like 2007, I give him somewhat of a pass for that Finals since he wasn't in his prime yet and nobody really expected the Cavs to beat the Spurs, but that wasn't the case for 2011.

wade. People underrate lebrons performance. As bad as he was in the 4th quarter, he played good defense and helped take the defensive pressure off his teamates while feeding them the ball. Wade was terrible throughout the entire series and did nothing.

Averaging 1.8 points is GOAT worthy I don't know why these haters are hating on the guy who didn't know NBA finals had a 4th quarter. He would be the GOAT if he was a hockey player :confusedshrug: with them 3 periods.

By far, Lebron. Much more was expected of him but credit the 2011 Mavs Defense. They exposed a player who probably has the worst fundamental skills in the top 15 players of all time. Wade was beta at that point in his career, wasn't expected to be anything more than a second option so it isn't as bad.

Wade by leaps and bounds
LeBron played ELITE defense in 2011,Wade played shit defense.
LeBron carried the Heat in the first 3 rounds in 11 while Wade rested the ENTIRE year only to have 3 good playoff games vs Indiana.
LEBron let Wade take over because he felt it was their best chance to win in 2011. Wade got mad everytime he didnt get the ball in 2014 and actively sabotaged the Heats defense and purposely turned it over.
Wade is a bitch and had the worst finals of a star player in the history of then NBA( i dont even think hes a star but most people do)
thats why LEBron is a certified retard if he stays with this worthless team and wastes his last prime years

Wade's done.
He got an 18 mil contract though, and I don't want to hear the he took a little bit less thatn Bron/Bosh excuse.
That's like arguing someone is a bad tipper compared to another because he tipped 20% when the other did 21%.

LeBron's was worse as far as what it meant about him and his legacy, because, like others have said, he was entering his prime and was a very dominant player who suddenly morphed into a clueless chump.
But which was a worse performance in reality? Wade by FAR. What the hell did he do in the Finals? He missed defensive rotations, didn't get back in transition, missed layups and got the ball literally taken right out of his hands multiple times by Kawhi and Danny Green. He was absolute garbage - not just underperforming, but straight up looked like an awful basketball player out there.

It's been said before.
Wade was less productive, but Lebron's hurt the team more because they had a real shot at winning. If Wade would have played well, the Heat most likely would have lost anyway.
If Lebron had played well in 2011, the Heat would have won. Hell, if he had played decent, they probably would have won.
