Really? The official website of the sport in the US made this shitty article about the best player on the world? This is a 8th grade article :oldlol:

OK.

The way is playing right now (which is injured and poorly) he's still better than the best player ever in the US.

And well, in 2006 he was the best young player in the competition and in 2010 he was the man of the match on all the 3 matches that we played in the group stage only being stopped by the champions in the Quarter Finals..

So, pretty well i guess?

So the best the so called best player in the world can do is take his team to the quarter finals. Donovan did that, and he has more WC goals.

So if Ronaldo's WC performances have been "OK" what does say about Donovan?

You mad the greatest U.S player ever has done more in World Cup tournaments than Ronaldo, the "best player in the world"?

Is that why you're so salty?

This is football, one player does not carry a team like basketball.
So, only World Cup defines your career?
Is Donovan the best player in the world?

(i'm laughing so much that i'm having an argument between Donovan and Ronlado). :lol

I'm laughing so much at the fact that you're using the "team" excuse when Portugal clearly has had the better teams over the past decade or so. :lol

Your logic makes zero sense. That's like using the team excuse for LeBron in 2011 when he lost to Dallas. Miami had the best player in the world and the better team. You're not going to hear anyone say "LeBron needed in 2011, that's why he lost."

Laughable that someone will use the "one player can't carry a team" excuse against the U.S. You're reaching. Running out of excuses eh? :lol

Nop, i was stating a fact only.
Portugal have better players, but Portugal play like crap as a team... everyone knows that here in the country :lol

Still, you didn't answer my questions.
Does World Cups competitions only play part in a player career?
His Donovan the best player in the world or was anytime near that? I don't think so.

It's like the portuguese national basketball league making an article talking shit about LeBron or Kobe, doesn't make any sense :lol

What is this, Piers Morgan live where I go on your show and you ask me agenda driven questions in an attempt to make me look silly? :oldlol:

Newsflash: You don't need to have the best player on your side to criticize somebody. That logic is silly, stop it.

Here are the facts:

Donovan has done more than Ronaldo in WC tournaments.
Donovan led his U.S team to the quarter finals, same as Ronaldo.

If you think Ronaldo's WC performances so far are OK, what does that say about Donovan?

Donovan has done much more with way less. That's a fact. Deal with it.

No, this is simple. Two questions, two answers.
You already know the answers and they aren't good for you so you don't answer.

I understand what you're saying. I addressed that a couple of posts ago. What does Ronaldo being the best player in the world have to do with anything?

You decided to go off topic so I figured I'd go with it.

Simple questions.

Who has more WC goals Donovan or Ronaldo?

Who has done more in WC tournaments Donovan or Ronaldo?

I think you know the answers, you choose not to answer them because doing so proves just how weak and pathetic Ronaldo plays in the WC, the most prestigious and most important soccer tournament in the world.

Like I said, Donovan has done a lot more with way less in WCs so far. Agree or disagree?

Landon Donovan
2002,2006, 2010 - 3 wins, 4 draws, 5 losses. 5 goals. Best: Quarter Finals.

(Since i will only count 2 of them, because Ronaldo only has 2 of them)

2006, 2010 - 2wins, 3 draws, 2 losses. 2 goals. Best: Quarter Finals.

Cristiano Ronaldo

2006, 2010 - 4 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses. 2 goals.

And since football isn't just about goals.

Man of the Match awards:

2006

Can't find stats, unfortunately.
If you can, please provide it.

2010

Donovan - 2
Cristiano Ronaldo - 3

And you had your fun already, but yeah i guess it's time....
Ronaldo went to semi-finals already.

In World Cup tournaments? You tell me. Ronaldo gets paid basically to score goals and yet an MLS player has scored more goals than him in WC tournaments.

How does that make you feel? Portugal is the better team and they have the best player in the world. It'd be a shame if the U.S beat them and sent them packing home later today. How will that make you feel?

I argued with you, because i like football and you start to like it since you're a child so i guess it's only normal to defend my roots but...

I wouldn't really care, and i'm being 100% sincere with you.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not rooting against them and i would like them to win but if they lose? Meh, we will be fine.

Portugal only cares about football and that pisses me off since the other sports (that we are good at) don't get the money/help/media attention and that is what really matters to me.

All I hear is excuses. Portugal is the better team and they have the best player in the world. No reason why they shouldn't win.

LOL maga you clown, that MLS article is just a buzzfeed type joke, and if you read til the end it makes it clear that the writer has immense respect for Ronaldo as a player and a talent and praises him for being able to do what no one else on the planet can.

Maybe though because language issues you can't detect the sarcasm in the article.

IN WORLD CUPS THOUGH, Donovan and Gyan are much better then Ronaldo. This can't be denied. For whatever reasons, Ronaldo has not played up to his best standards at world cups and many many other players have been more effective.

MLS is not the biggest football website in America don't worry:cheers: They probably did this to try to get cheap hits on their site which ordinarily no one goes on.

I think it's fair to say that Mexican and European leagues are much more popular then MLS in America. I've seen more people wearing Boca Juniors shirts in LA then I have MLS shirts in my life for example.
