View Full Version : The World Cup has been dissapointing so far

RagaZ

Not as bad as 2010, but pretty close.

Too many bad teams. They need to cut it down to 24. These bad teams are ruining the tournament with their defensive tactics. Even bigger teams like Italy, Uruguay and Brazil have used these tactics so far.

Hope they pick it up. If not, then FIFA needs to change the rules.

The current World Cup is on track to become the 2nd highest scoring tournament since the 1958 WC. Now RagaZ didn't notice many goals of course, watching this shitty English team with that bum Rooney kicking corners to the moon.

Stop the trolling. At least Iran and Honduras are playing with heart. England just sucks.

It's bad for the quality of the World Cup that teams like Costa Rica, Iran etc. go through. I dont care how much heart they have. I dont want to watch teams who just defends and hope that their opponent makes a mistake.

England faced 2 teams who parked the bus. Costa Rica didnt. Off course they wont park the bus against a minnow like Costa Rica.

It's been a great World Cup. Ghana vs Germany yesterday was a superb game. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire second half.

Teams that play well and give it their best are the ones who should be in the tournament, where they're from and what style of Football they play is irrelevant.

I'm disappointed England are out but it's no ones fault except are own this time. 2010 was a different scenario with the obvious goals that were disallowed because FIFA had no goal line technology, this tournament we played poorly. That's just the way it is.

Either enjoy the rest of the competition or stop watching the World cup. Coming on here and making excuses about England has made this place considerably worse because it's invited the trolls in. It seems I can't go into any thread to discuss the World cup without someone reminding me how shit England was this year and this is in large part because of you.

All African teams are sh*t tbf.

I hope they do well, but i honestly dont see any African team going past the Group Stages this year.

cameroon and ghana are in tough groups but algeria, nigeria, ivory coast have a good chance..one of them definitely makes the knockout stage

No.

Russia and Belgium.
Argentina and Bosnia.
Colombia and Japan.

The World would rather have a Brazil v England match tonight. The most successul world cup nation v the home of football.

Dear Lord, two Englandfans discussing football. The 1/16 has been great this time. So many close games with overtime, penalty kicks, so many heartbrakers and nailbiters. This is what football emotions are about not that there are 6 goals scored in one match. How were the Brasil-Chile, the Netherlands-Mexiko, the Germany-Algeria and the Belgium-US games not amazing games to watch?

This was the best world cup ever, probably because we only had to watch boring England for 3 games. Even shit countries like Algeria and Japan played more exciting football then England.

If England was Team Great Britain they might actually be exciting because Bale and Ramsey would be able to carry these English scrubs on their backs. Also England would be able to have a proper keeper, like David Marshall for example, rather then having to rely on choking scrubs like Joe Hart and Robert Green. English FA should seriously look in to merging with the Welsh, Scottish and North Irish FAs before the next world cup if they want to have any chance.

This world cup turned shit when european heavyweights like England, Spain and Italy went out. The world cup needs these super powers.

USA, Algeria, Costa Rica and Nigeria have offered nothing to football ever. Just because you get a bit lucky over a week or two means nothing on a wider scale.

Yeah right. Real football and sports fans in general like emotions. That's what it all comes down to. And while I hate to see a game decided by Penalties, it sure as hell is nailbiting.

And  at you and mister "I know football" Ragaz for over and over again claiming that England is a football superpower or that the world cup benefits in any way from having them in it over e.g. a young Algerien or Cost Rica team. I'd rather see a team like Algeria playing their hearts out against Germany than another English loser national team who fail over and over again and disappoint on a routine basis.

As a reminder, here the World Cup results for the last 30 years (1 generation) for the football "superpower" that is England:
- 86: quarterfinal exit
- 90: semifinal exit
- 94: did not even qualify
- 98: exit in the 1/16 finals
- 02: quarterfinal exit
- 06: quarterfinal exit
- 10: exit in the 1/16 finals
- 14: did not make it out of their group

that's flat out pathetic for a nation that has the best national league for many years now (and that is of course only because of the messed-up financial system your league has where all bigger clubs belong to very financial powerful and very often sketchy single oligarchs/players).

It does look equally pityful when you look at the European Cup performance:
- 84: did not even qualify
- 88: did not make it out of their group
- 92: did not make it out of their group
- 96: exit in semifinals
- 00: did not make it out of their group
- 04: quarterfinal exit
- 08: did not even qualify
- 12: quarterfinal exit

For a nation with these resoures, football being the number one sport, this league and this population the record of the English national team is just embarrisngly pathetic. It is just mind-boggling how often England either did not even qualify or did not even survive the group stage in the World and European championship cups.

Only dillusional English fanboys can call the English national team a football superpower.
