Nothing changes, except Melo is clear cut 2010 FMVP and Pau isn't in the discussion.

Melo B2B Finals wins and 2X FMVP

Hell no. Melo is NO MJ, he is NO Kobe, he is not even a superstar. A superstar plays both offense and defense.

I agree......that's why Tragic Johnson is extremely overrated.

Melo had great supporting casts in Denver...he just got shat on by Kobe.

Kobe is on a different level. Period.

yea even as a kobe hater, i can't go THAT far as to say melo would win with that laker team. Probably loses in the first or second round.

My man, you forgot about 08

Kobe: 34/6/5 50% FG
Melo: 23/9/2 36% FG

Clean sweep of a team was actually good too.

Hmm... Lakers could still go far, but I don't know if they win it all. Not sure how Melo fits in the triangle offense. He's not the passer Bryant is. He's not even the scorer Bryant is either.

Magic? :D
I'm more willing to overlook his defensive deficiencies if he is leading them to championships :D

I don't think he is top 5 ever, but top 10 yes he should be.

wow a decent post by you.
Still waiting to see your first :oldlol:

How bout we go with the entire 08-09 playoffs

kobe 30 5 5 on 45/35/88
melo 27 6 4 on 45/36/83

Yep close enough, Lakers still win if they switched teams.

Lose both. Melo is not a good playoff performer.

Title in 2009 and probably lost to Phoenix in 2010.

If Melo joins the Heat, expect me to make retroactive arguments as to why Melo has always been better than Kobe.

So Melo played almost as good against other competition.. And Kobe murked him head to head. Denver had a very good team around melo and it wouldn't have been enough to overcome Kobe taking over games way more than melo could.

It'd be like if you switched MJ and Clyde's teams.. Clyde would have a better second option now and MJ would have the more balanced stacked team but MJ would still crush Clyde and Portland would win
