If there's been a thread on this, you can delete this, but this is first I heard of this.

My Miami insders believe that the #knicks are working on a sign and trade with @cavs for the number one pick sending Melo to Cleveland! #NBA
:coleman: This can't be true, right? I'll just assume it's true. Woo Hoo!

If this were 26 year old Carmelo anthony, why not (although it's still questionable if you're willing to take risks).
But he's turning 30 soon. You already know what he can give you at his best, and he'll be getting a little worse each year from now on. By 33 he might already be no more than a role player, you never know.

I bet there is some truth to this. Cleveland is probably tired of every high draft pick except Irving turning into a bust...why not trade for a sure thing in Melo? And if that convinces Lebron to go back then it's a huge victory....

I'd ****ing lol though if Melo brought a championship to Cleveland.
He'd instantly surpass LeBron on the all time lists :lol

If I'm Cleveland I take that deal :lol
Melo > any of the overhyped shit in this draft.. The cavs have a good core already, with melo and a new coach they're in great position..
Sign a couple of cheap vets an they're set..
Bran bias aside, they should steer clear of him and his iso ball bullshit. The team would be better without him turning them into spot up shooters..

Whoever tweeted this is dumb. Melo is opting out today. And is a FA. If he wanted to play in Cle (and no one does) he would just sign there.
There is literally NO CHANCE of this happening.
If he would be willing to go there they would just sign him. He would NOT opt in (the only way NYK would even have rights) then get traded. It makes zero sense.
if that happens(which it won't) them I'm pretty sure they have an agreement with Lebron.

i dont think this has a shot in hell of happening, but your reasoning is weird. 30 million dollars makes zero sense? Melo aint giving that up so the cavs can keep their draft pick.

The "expected value" of the first overall pick in a draft generally agreed to be good to very good is better than 30 year old Melo.

The Cavs can actually clear enough room to sign two max players this offseason. We're not giving away the No. 1 pick in a scenario like this. It's ludicrous. :oldlol:

As RBA said, they can clear enough cap room for two max FAs, this lineup could be insane
Irving
Waiters
LeBron
Melo
Embiid
or
Irving
Wiggins/Waiters
LeBron
Melo
whoever else
RBA, who do you have to get rid of to create the space?

Moving Jack and not picking up the team options for Varejao, Gee and Hopson should do it. In fact, that might be more than enough...

Hawes and Deng have both expired. The Cavs have sh!t tons of cap space. I'm not anticipating something like this to happen, but they will be adding serious talent, either through free agency or via trades. They have way too much cap space not to seriously play around with the roster. Lots of future picks, too, if they choose to work a trade.

It's going to be so rewarding watching AB silence the critics. Really great the way expectations have been quashed. That's going to help.

They need to make moves, with that cap room, I would be looking to use the future picks to get some great players in, I know you aren't sold on the LeBron idea, but if him and Melo want to play together, Cleveland seems like the perfect team to facilitate it with, there would still be a glaring hole at C, unless you guys draft Embiid........

Not really - expectations will always be there since he was the Cavs no.1 pick. When he gets traded then it will be different.

Well, except for the fact that the reason expectations got quashed because he put up 4/3 and a 6.00 PER and looked fat and extremely slow. That part wasn't so great.

Well, that and the fact that people totally made their mind up on a 20-year-old player 1/3 of the way through his rookie season, of which he barely played... and, the majority of said people still probably haven't seen him play, outside of a compilation of low lights.
But, yeah.

Not going to read all the posts so I don't know if this has already been said. Jabari wants to play in Milwaukee because his father (who lives in Chicago) has been having some health issues and can't travel very far. Milwaukee is but hop, skip and a jump from The C.H.I.
Also guys, Jabari recently measured out at 6'9" ... verified by multiple independent sources. 255 for a guy 6'9" is not bad. That said, he clearly tanked the Cleve workout on purpose and will quickly get down to his usual playing weight of 240/245.
...
Why would Carmelo want the Cavs to send away talent as he goes there? He isn't doing this, and the Cavs aren't doing this.
