Giannis from the Bucks.

On the side note, I have a friend whose 6'5'' with a 6'11'' wingspan. Very efficient in the post and can shoot the ball. For normal people, I consider a near 7 foot wingspan freakish  . I myself am 5'9'' with a 6'1'' wingspan

His arm span is beyond normal for a typical white guy but still normal for a BBall player, he was about 6-9 or 6-10 with a 7-4 armspan, like Dwight or Bill Russell. Any '8 footwingspan' myths connected to his name or anyone else's (Ewing) are bunk

True. Some reports/articles "claim" that he had an 8' wingspan.. I don't know about that one, but I wouldn't go against it...

Wests is 6-9 armspan is pretty typical for a BBall player in light of recent info about his height (6-4 and change). Rondos armspan is the same for example, but he's 3 inches shorter. There's a few extreme ones I wrote down on a spreadsheet that trump all these bigger name players, I'll have to look it up when I get a break here at work

Any reports, factual evidence? I don't know but this seems more than your "normal" 7'5'' wingspan (and the same goes when I see him play)...

Plus there's various reports/articles "claiming" that he had an 8' wingspan (easy to find)... which I'm not saying are necessarly true though.

99.999% sure any and all '8 foot wingspan' claims are media fabricated bunk, any skinny person looks like they've got long arms in photograph, people always thought I had really long arms on my team til I went under the tape and it turned out my arms were only as long as my height and two guys shorter than me had several inches more reach. Being thin is deceiving. I read an article that stated his arms were 7 feet 4 inches which is much more in line with reality. I'll try to find that article. The only player in league history with anything chance of an 8 foot or greater wingspan given the now exhaustive lists of draft data was prob just manute Bol who it is claimed had an 8 foot 6 inch armspan or something like that. I don't know how valid that claim is either, buts the only one that seems plausible in the 8 foot range.

Yea, Sid also had a long wingspan, sorta like D-Wade (lots of similarities in their games too). His physique and athleticism are also major reasons as to why he was a terrific defensive player... That reminds me of Paul Pressey who also played for those Bucks, really long arms.

Elton Brand has to be up there. At 6'8", he was one of the prolific rebounders and shot blockers in the league with the Clippers. He straight up blocked a Dirk fade away.

Brand was 6'8.25" no shoes and a 7'5.5" wingspan. So that's a difference of 7.25" over his height. His standing reach was 9'2".

Maxiell is like 5 feet tall and his arms drag on the floor.

maybe he grew into his arms?

most kids have longer arms in proportion to the rest of their body at the start of puberty. then their body starts to fill out

One guy that always gets overlooked in this department is D. Howard. 6'9" without shoes and 7'4" wingspan. Not freakish but impressive. And you add in his off the charts athleticism and you can see why he was such a defensive beast.

Ben Wallace had the most effective wingspan. His height doesn't stand out among regular people but was the best shot blocker for years. Better than 7 footers who had freaky wing spans.
