View Full Version : LOL Dallas Mavs have done NOTHING since Cuban broke up a potential DYNASTY

they dominated their way with beautiful basketball to a championship over the great HEAT ... and then what?
Cuban, BILLIONAIRE, becomes too CHEAP to sign his players.. he lets great defender chandler go.. he lets kidd go.. he lets great PG spark off the bench Barea go..
Dirk was so robbed. I feel bad for the guy.
FACT--> if that team stays together, they repeat, possibly 3peat. The ball movement and elite defense/scoring is INVALUABLE. nobody beats them in 2012.. 2013 would be epic battle between spurs/mavs.
Whats sad is Dallas fans dont see how bad Cuban fukked them. Theyre just "so happy" over 1 championship LOL kinda like those dudes who havent been laid in 15 years but still "remember that one time i got laid but was too cheap to pay for a second date and never got laid again"

Only an idiot thinks that team was a potential dynasty. It was very clearly an all-or-nothing season for that team, and there's no way they would have repeated.
And you are a jackass for thinking that winning a single championship is something to laugh at. How many teams get to do that? You can go suck every Mavs fan's balls.

Delusional.
JET, Barea, 86 yr old Kidd = Dynasty.
Good to know. You know they ALL got paid >>>>> their value. Kidd couldn't even make it through a season.
They missed Chandler to be sure but at what he got? NO THANKS.

.
Dirk was at the pinnacle of his ability.... if you surround him with decent talent he was sure to repeat.. nobody could stop him back then.
but cuban was too cheap.. plain and simple.

If they kept that team together it would have killed their cap for the seasons ahead. Now they have great flexibility and Dirk is still one of the top 3 impact half court offensive players in the league.

The truth is the 2011 Mavs probably werent the best team in the west. Everyone, especially dirk played, above the level they played at in the regular season.
Even then the 2011 Heat should have won the finals.

As a Mavs fan I can say with great certainty that there was no dynasty nor the potential for one. Chandler? He hasn't lit the league on fire since he left. Terry? Went way downhill very quickly? Barea? He was a bum who had a great run in the playoffs and has since returned to being a bum and being hurt. Cuban has had awful luck luring free agents since then but not because he didn't wanna spend the money. Do you know anything about basketball?

barea was fantastic in the mavs system.. you expect him to be an allstar with the WOLVES? LMAO
chandler is still a great defensive player .. he helped the knicks to playoffs against the heat the following year cuban let him go
JET still doing his thing with boston.. do you even watch basketball?
just admit cuban is cheap af for being a billionaire

Jet got traded to the nets and then traded to Sacramento and went home to Dallas to rehab during the season.
Barea is a bum who played in 40 games his first year in Minnesota.
Chandler hasn't played more than 66 games since moving to NY.
So do you watch basketball?

They had a lucky hot streak in the playoffs so what? Remember they were projected to lose to Portland in the 1st round that year. Adding chandler and barea is going to make them lose to the Thunder in 6 in the 1st round instead of swept in 2012

That's an awfully long list, and one the Mavs are not part of.
It wouldn't have been a dynasty anyway...

They were not dynasty level but they could have been a Detroit Pistons type... back to back champs.
DMavs disagrees. Few other Mav fans disagree. The major reason why Kidd and Terry were so "bad" in 2012 was because after Cuban dismantled the team... Kidd and Terry just "gave up" on the court. Neither put forth any effort because they knew they were like rats trying to leave a sinking ship.
The hardest thing to do is to get to the top of mountain. As soon as you get there, you don't just immediately fall off the ledge because you scared of heights. You nut up and look at the wonderful view for a few minutes.

The Mavs overachieved in 2011 and had an epic playoff run, knocking off the back to back defending champion Lakers, the Durant/Westbrook/Harden Thunder, then the Big 3 Miami Heat. How could ANYONE bitch about that?

Man, I'm just happy to have seen them win one. We could easily be sitting here talking about how Dirk and Mavericks never found a way to get over the hump. Yet, they did, and in an incredible fashion. One of my favorite Finals series I've seen.

It really feels like Phoenix and Utah should have one by now. Back on subject the mavs in 2011 were amazing to watch. I'm glad Dirk and Kidd got theirs finally.

There never was a potential dynasty as there was no chance of re-peating you dumb **** :facepalm
Stop it. I say this as a fan. That team would lose against the Spurs or Miami.
Thunder and Lakers would have been tight too.

Mavs were never close to a dynasty, but none the less they should have kept Tyson at the least. He was as important to them, in that season, as Bruce Bowen was to the Spurs if you ask me. Defensive cog, serious competitor, and scored buckets here and there. Obviously a great rebounder and shot blocker. Chandler was important for the Mavs in the paint and chemistry between him and Dirk was superb.

it can be debated that cuban messed up by not keeping chandler, but the rest, their time was up.

The OP title is so stupid. The Mavericks were built to win that year, which even that surprised the hell out of everyone. All the role-players/ key guys declined right after that season. It was a special run, but dynasty is just

Cuban played it like a business venture instead of a sports commodity. In business, another good deal will come along sooner or later. But in sports, a commodity is something special because it takes a while to develop chemistry and the Mavs broke up a team that had great chemistry.
Imagine if the LA Kings broke up the team after winning the title in 2012 and used the same logic the Mavs used that they somehow got hot and lighting wont strike twice. Same for the SF Giants another team that doesnt have much star power like the Yankees or Red Sox.

No, this is not true at all. That team was on fire until Butler and Dirk got hurt, and they were dominant against the elite teams, including crushing Miami both times in the regular season and holding Lebron to under 35% shooting in both games.
This all came with Deshawn in the lineup. However, after the all star break Rick went with the Roddy experiment which screwed up flow and the Mavs limped a bit heading into the postseason until they re-inserted Deshawn back into the lineup.
2010-2011 was the season where Dirk started having the insanely efficient games of 11-14-esque shooting consistently while providing good defense. This team was clearly the league's best when healthy and they absolutely dominated the postseason.
It's an inaccuracy, an insult, and a flat out lie when people claim that team was a flash in the pan success. You don't simply drop a total of 5 games all postseason just off a 'hot streak'. That team was beautifully constructed.

He may have missed one with Chandler, who was incredibly important to that title team, but i get the impression that he saw an ageing team, and then saw what happened to that ageing Miami team after 2006 because they didn't decide to blow it up and revamp because they were defending champs - basically 3-4 wasted seasons and a 15-67 season as well.

I used to watch their games with my friends who claimed to be Heat fans. #nofilter :lol
