Paul was never an elite defender but still better then melo. Pierce was a top level player pre 2003 draft

So ?

Neither did Shawn Marion and he's better than both of them defensively.

Melo's offensive game >>>>>>>>>>>> Pierce's
Melo's is a far superior rebounder
Pierce is slightly a better passer, Melo could be too if he wanted to be though.
Pierce is obviously more of a winner though..
Pierce is also a better defender, although a bit overrated..

The career assist statistics disagree with the notion that Melo is a better passer. The Peak statistics disprove it (Pierce once got 5.1). Also, "shot-blocking?" I don't see how that's worth mentioning for either or how Melo is better at it. For the record Pierce has averaged a whole block per game as a rookie. Melo tops out at last year's 0.7.

Melo's offensive game >>>>>>>>>>>> Pierce's
Pierce has averaged 26. Melo's scoring edge isn't that big.

Pierce hasn't been lit up any more often than any of his contemporaries. He defended Kobe Bryant as well as anyone in the '08 Finals. Very little of your posts in this thread are based on reality.

Why ask a question if you're not gonna be objective?

Clearly you think Melo is the better player so what's the point of the thread :confusedshrug:

Pierce is a better defender than Anthony. Whether he was never great doesn't matter. Anthony was never great either, infact, most say he's a negative.
