It isn't just the speed of the grass that effects Nadal, it's the bounce. Nadal relies on forcing his opponents into errors by hitting high bouncing, top spin shots (typically to their backhand). The grass surface has the least amount of bounce, and favors guys who hit hard, flat shots.

Outside of French Open, Wilmbledon is his 2nd most successful in terms of getting to the Final. He lost to Fed twice but beat him in the greatest match ever played. What are you implying? He's been cold there lately, but even in 2011 he beat Murray on his way to the Final. Djokovic had his number that year, otherwise he would have 3 trophies there.

I was simply stating how the grass surface specifically effects Nadal's game. He's a great player, so obviously he's had success on every surface. In my opinion, only Djoker should be favored over him in this tourney... but it isn't going to be as easy to defend and force errors on this grass surface.

As a former coach and player in tennis, I can tell that you really have no clue what you're talking about.
Rafael is a special player, mental strength and game only matched by few. He is nearly on the Mj level of killer competitiveness.
His timing on the forehand takes a lot of skill. He whips around that ball at lots of different angles, has incredible footwork and an amazing knack to fight out of tough situations.
Rafael will go down as top 3 all time players imo

he has ONE skilled shot and that is not that special if he only trained that shot since age 10. his killer forhand( which he can only really use as a counter or when opponent is to short.
in terms of skill he not even close to the best guys who are playing right now, yet alone all time.
of course his accomplishments make him at least top 10 all time but he is a very one dimensional player.
always grinding, always moonballing and rarely really offensive.
endless stamina( i wonder how that is possible when other guys like Murray and Djokovic train just as hard:rolleyes: ) and is FAVORED by surface changes. These changes have been made to make his rivalry with Federer more competetive even when he was still young. the ATP changed their surfaces to benefit Rafas playstyle.
Many true tennis fans agree with me and dont like the guy because of this fact, because he fakes injuries and is generally a terrible sportsman. healthy NAdal is still undefeated:rolleyes: .
And yes, his killer instinct is absolutely GOAT like, i agree.
if Federer had the same he would have won 20 slams already at least.
still Nadal will never be as good as Federer.
even at this age Federer is doing things Nadal wouldnt even dream of doing on a tennis court

Nadal is playing Rosol next game.
Rosol could roast that pig easily if he doesnt choke( Nadals relentlessness makes opponents choke at least once a game tho).
If Nadal reaches the second eek its his to lose because the already slow grass will be like clay by that time

on the plus side, maybe it will help her grow up. last time she crashed out of a tourney early she sounded like she might finally be realising what a spoiled brat she's been.
i think she could take some lessons from venus on how to go from a brat to a classy / dedicated player.
i wouldn't mind seeing muzza or fed win this year. for murray it would be a return to form after a crappy past year... for federer it would be a nice way to say 'never write off a legend', like what happened with sampras (and connors) in prior years.

If you were calling Nadal a one trick pony, you would be overlooking his elite footwork and fitness, his ability to win pressure matches, his strength of mind, the timing to generate the power that he does on the forehand, an underrated backhand, an improved serve, an improved volley game etc.
To have won on all surfaces he must be doing something right. You can't be a one trick pony and win on all surfaces in grand slams.

are you dumb??
if you really know tennis then you know that ALL surfaces have been slowed down to make his rivalry with Federer more vital.
not only that but nearly all the points you mentioned just show that he is a great Claycourter.
and no hes still a bad server, his backhand is pretty shitty and his volley game is maybe above average.
Nadal is Stamina, mental strength and a forehand with HUGE topspin.
thats it.
hes also a match-up nightmare for his only real rival, Federer, because he can attack Federers one-handed backhand constantly with his lame ass top spin moon balls until it breaks down.
to bad Federer was to arrogant to ever train a THBH or Dull would have 10 slams max and Fed would have 20.
whatever Nadal IS a one trick pony and his lame antics and injury faking(countless times already) aside, it is pretty impressive how he won 14 slams with his limited talent :applause:

Roger won two slams after he turned 28. Nadal not winning at Wimbledon is really a non-story.
If his expectations are win every slam or you're not the GOAT, those are some very very unrealistic and unfair standards to be held to.
Kyrgios is the real deal. Quite the impressive performance from a 19 year old. His serve, and forehand are lethal. Moves pretty well for a big guy too.
He's up against my boy Raonic now. This will be a fascinating match. Great opportunity for Raonic to get his first GS SF, but I thinking Krygios will win. I hope I'm wrong.

They both looked bad. I felt like Fed was given so many chances to just dominate (6-1 or 6-2) his way through the last two and a half sets and could never take advantage. He still got it done in the end though.

Dude is the Lendl of this era. Unreal talent, but just has this inexplicable inconsistency in the big moments. One match he'll fight off like 10 match points and win without even breaking a sweat, the next match he'll get stomped into oblivion in the clutch moments. He needs this match big time. Usually he's losing to Nadal, which eases the pain a bit knowing that you lost to the best...if he loses another final but this time to grandpa Federer, he might not recover mentally.

You kidding me? Lendl had 100x the mental fortitude that Djokovic has. Lendl's only weakness was grass courts, but that's because they were actually fast back then. You actually needed an at-net game to win Wimbledon back then. Lendl would have several Winby titles if he played in this era.

And Djokovic doesn't have mental fortitude? The guy is the most consistent player on tour since 2011, with some of the greatest clutch moments in the history of the sport. There aren't many people who can do what he did in the 2012 AO Final and 2011 USO SF. He isn't pre-2012 Murray.
And what do you mean by several? Because between prime Federer pretty much owning Wimbledon for most of 2003-2009, Nadal when he was a beast on grass from 2006-2011, 2011 Djokovic, and even 2012-2013 Murray to an extent, Lendl would have a tough time getting more than 2 Wimby titles in this era.

Prime Fed didn't miss a single Major QF on any surface (he holds the record for consecutive QF's and SF's in a Major). Prime Fed was #1 in the World for 6 straight years. Part of being great, is being consistent.
What about 10 consecutive years with at least one GS title?

He'll only reply when it fits his agenda.
How does England feel with Fed losing? :lol I know if Murray couldn't win, they were all in for Fed :oldlol:

King of Clay. No argument there.
What if there were two grass surface tournaments and only one clay surface tournament?

strange... my man won and got the monkey off his back, but i'm still disappointed for fed. would have liked to see the old guy have at least one last hurrah.
still, he's playing much better this year, so maybe next time.

I wanted Federer so he could get 8 Wimbledons. Much better than that American Punk Sampras who only had a big serve.

Federer was so clutch today, didnt believe he could be this clutch at this stage.
until he went full retard on that overhead smash and then started choking in the end of the 5th.
he got robbed of possible BPs by the umpire in the 3rd set too.
but hats off to Djokovic.
he was the better player today and deserved this. winning against Roger is never easy on grass:applause: :applause:
and for Roger:bowdown:
BY FAR the greatest player of all time its not even remotely close. no matter how many RG the mudpig Dull wins in the future:coleman:
