Rather make it to the finals and lose than keep losing in the 1st round

Because even they know it would be a sin to draft Kobe over LeBron.

From a basketball point of view or from a TMZ point of view though? Cuz from a basketball point of view they set a bunch of franchise records for team success (overall wins in a season, farthest they went in the playoffs, their first MVP in franchise history) and then also break a bunch of personal records for the franchise in just 7 years?

Drafting LeBron probably resulted in the best 7 year the franchise has had in its history (vs. 86-92).

Doesn't seem so terrible. Unless of course the implication is championship or failure.

i wont compare it with kobe because it will bring another useless 10 pages+ of the same kobe lebron debate

but who do you think the winner of 2003 draft?
miami for drafting wade or cavs for drafting lebron?

From purely the draft standpoint it's actually a pretty good question, but who won isn't actually based on the player they drafted because their front offices did so much other stuff that affected the direction they headed and what the player meant to the franchise.

If you're only taking the draft into consideration, then I think the Cavs win, because if it was reversed (Wade to Cleveland and LeBron to Miami) Wade probably does less in Miami and LeBron doesn't get swept out of the first round in 2007 or lose 50-something games in 2008.

If they had to do it over again, would the Cavs draft LeBron or Wade? I don't think many would say Wade in this scenario.

I'm an optimist.

I draft embiid number 1, I will always draft the best talent. I don't pick a player based on the risk of injury, every player is at risk of injury so there's that.

Wiggins will be pretty good, but I think embiid has potential to be an alltime great.

The team who drafted Kobe first got 5 rings and the greatest/most skilled player of all time.

The team who drafted LeBald got 0 rings and had him go make a superteam somewhere else after a couple epic choke/quit-jobs.

Kobe, and it's not close.

i'd draft lebron because he was a better player straight out of high school than kobe was out of high school.

But after a couple years i'd try trade lebron for Kobe without hesitating, because kobe can deliver championships, more than lebron at least.

*Gasol, Shaq, and Phil Jackson can deliver championships. Though I admit Kobe can be a good complementary piece for a contender.

why is that not smart? History has shown that Kobe is 5/7 and lebron is 2/5.

6/24, that's Kobe's day and you're picking Lebron?

I'd pick Kobe, unless the draft was held on any other day, the Lebron 100/100 times.

why is that not smart? History has shown that Kobe is 5/7 and lebron is 2/5.
history also shows that lebron never had prime shaq.
