View Full Version : The Heat will be a disaster if LeBron leaves

People need to realize there is no shot for the Heat to contend for a championship for the next 3-4 years if LeBron leaves. Wade will opt in, and Bosh will either do that as well or leave to be a #1 on a different team.

I know, it'll be great , right?

Wonder where all of those Heat fans would be then.

Probably true, but they will need to rebuild again sooner than later.

Don't forget, the American Airlines Arena will be empty too since the bandwagoners would have followed Lebron's D to whichever city he goes to.

I think if Lebron leaves and Wade and Bosh stay, they'll still be a good team. Wade will go back to being the team leader like he used to be, and they may be able to thrive without all the expectations of the past four years. Besides, Riley's "The Godfather," right? I mean, he was able to get all those free agents and make all these masterful moves because he's one of the best, right? People here have been going on and on about what a genius Riley is. I'm sure he'll keep the team contending even if Lebron leaves.

Dude, Wade's days of being able to carry a team look like they're over. He can't even stay healthy for a full season anymore

Is this with Wade playing every third game?

They'll have a record similar to Clevland's in 2010-11

Okay, maybe not that bad.

I'm sure Heat fans feel confident that The Godfather will make moves to keep the team relevant, even if Lebron leaves.

This. The Heat are a great organization with arguably the GOAT GM. They won a title before LeBron arrived and Riley will ensure they remain contenders if he leaves.

Yeah, i'm sure Riley will struggle to attract players to South Beach

East really isn't that good. And even if Wade, Bosh, and Haslem all opt in they'd have like $14M in cap space. Really, assuming Melo goes to Chicago, Lebron goes to Cleveland, and Indiana back all their players, then the Bulls, Cavs, and Pacers are the only teams better then them. They'd probably be in the same mix as the Wizards and Raptors, and would be a great Wade and Bosh series away from upsetting anyone in the East.

Relevant meaning what? They're a four seed in the East? They lose in the second round? That beats sucking, I guess, except you're stuck being mediocre the next several seasons.

This would be an interesting scenario. Would the Heat perform as well as the Bulls did when MJ left? That may put "2/5" in some perspective...

The Heat could be 4th in the East without LeBron--but they could just as easily be 7th (CHI, CLE, IND, TOR, BKN, ATL). They clearly would be a cut below the top 3 teams and would not be a contender to win the conference like those three.

if Lebron leaves, the Heat are left with cap space to make good moves...Parsons, Lowry, Drummond, etc are all viable pick ups available for the Heat to make moves on.

Lebron is an instant title chance, but I'm sure if someone like Lowry and Parsons are picked up in place of Lebron alongside restructures of Bosh and Wade, a really good team can be made of the Heat for a few years to come.

faith in Riley...since he's been here, we've been pretty good, no?

You're going to put things in perspective? :oldlol: If the Heat are a cut below the top 3 teams, which I would expect as well, its going to be because Wade is so far from removed from his prime and Bosh is arguably past his best days as well. If those guys were in their prime like the core of the 94 Bulls were or at least at their 2011-2013 level, they'd easily be a contender to come out of the East. Of course, you would probably ignore that though.

can't wait to see where Lebron takes my fanboy talents this time. It's been real Miami, but I'm opting out as well.

The Heat are the most stacked team of all time. If James leaves we will only win the next two rings instead of the next three.
