View Full Version : Lebron should go to Chicago..

Well-rounded team, stays in the East where he won't be exposed, well coached. Thibs is a defensive coach, and Lebron was lacking in that area last season. Would look good in Chicago jersey.

Only places that are okay for him to go are Miluakee/Cleveland, bro.

No because a man of LeBron's abilities shouldn't be such a competitive coward to have to hop from team to team to compete for championships. While in his prime no less. Lacks heart, IMO.

He's the best player in the game, a top five ability player all-time, he should stick it out where he's at. I don't want his soft ass, colluding stigma cloud to follow to Chicago.

Melo isn't the player the caliber of LeBron. He's a fit for this team, without making us ridiculously stacked. So it wouldn't feel dirty him coming to Chicago.

BTW What happened at the very least to even LeBron's loyalty to his bromance with Wade?

I'm honestly shocked by any fan not wanting Lebron on their team. The point of the game is to win. Lebron offers the best chance of that, for an individual, in the entire league. Please bring him to Chicago.

Better yet, bring them both to Chicago...
Amnesty Boozer -- 13m under the cap.
trade Rose to Orlando for the 4th pick -- 30m under the cap.

Small paycuts from both Melo and Rose, and we're looking at...

Lebron/Hinrich (if resigns)
Butler/Snell/Jimmer
Melo/Dunleavy/Snell
Gibson/Hawes (if he is willing to sign a cheap vet deal to win)
Noah/Hawes

Or...

Hinrich/Augustin
Butler/Snell/Jimmer
Lebron/Dunleavy/Snell
Melo/Gibson
Noah/Hawes

Pretty solid lineups.

I won't condemn a fellow bulls fan for wanting lebron but personally I'm just not on board with It.

While winning championships are great, I'd rather suffer more years of nothing than have lebron on our team. If the reason for me to support a team was to see my team win championships, well then I'd simply bandwagon hop to the best team every year.

I get more satisfaction from the journey and the struggle, my fandom is not validated by instant gratification.

A team's journey not only consists of struggles from players and coaches, it also includes the front office. If you have a great front office like Houston, LA or San Antonio, it should be no different than accepting having a great player. Same can be said for your scouting team.

30+ teams want LeBron, 5 will be making serious pitches to him. In order to be evaluated as the top GM/front office, your team has to perform well in free agency. That would mean grabbing at least a top 3 FA when you've got the budget, regardless of who that player is. Bulls fans saying they don't want LeBron would be like telling Thibs not to gun for coach of the year or Noah to stop pushing for DPOY.

I hear what you're saying, but players have to be on board with It too.

With what's happened in the past between bulls and heat, I strongly doubt the Bulls management will be looking at lebron at all.

While all the other teams will have an eye on nabbing lebron, bulls will be trying to get a guy like melo or love.

Our management usually goes for high character guys. They won't waste time with bone heads like Mcgee or a Jr Smith, and they won't want a guy who wants to be a primadonna either.

I doubt we will even make a play for lebron tbh

Then while majority of the teams are scrambling to lure Lebron, Bulls should act NOW, put up the best realistic offer to acquire Kevin Love.
26 pts, 12.5 rebs on just 18 shots. Not a bloated ego, good passer, good defender and does not need to dominate the ball to be effective.
Yes, he hasn't gone to the playoffs but most of it is bec of crappy teammates, injuries and great competition in the West.

A lot of Bulls fans I know aren't particularly fond of love, saying he's just a stat guy and doesn't impact the game.

I like his pairing with Noah. Noah can bang the boards and anchor the d while love stretches the defense and shoots the jumpers, while rose also benefits from the extra space. Love also provides dominant rebounding, teams will have a lot of trouble keeping these guys off the boards.

Love is the man we need, not Melo. Love would fit perfectly with the Bulls imo, Melo I am not sure.

Lol, funny post. My favorite current player is actually Kobe... all time is Pippen. But regardless, I want the Bulls to win. Sick of all the losing since '99. Super proud of them for how they compete, but the current roster will forever be "the little guy" that always tries as hard as possible, makes everyone proud along the way... but never wins.

Funny thing about this is in 2010 we were all drooling over the potential of Lebron donning the Bulls uniform. We even had pretty significant reports it was almost a done deal and people were ready to party.

Fast forward now and everyone doesn't want him because he is a ring chaser, and soft and beta (All true to some degree).

But if Lebron gives us a better chance to win a 'chip than Melo, and I think he would...you try and kick those tires and sign him. And if you don't remember how glorious it was having the best player in the league on our team...it was glorious and how can you be opposed to winning? Stop acting hard, Lebron in Red isnt gonna happen, but if it did and you are a true Bulls fan, you should all be on board.

My only thing against Lebron is his aesthetic value. Outside of the otherworldly display of physical prowess displayed in transition, he doesn't really "wow" me to any extent for a superstar; but I'm sure all that will change if he dons a Bulls uni :D . I guess I don't follow social media on him enough to dislike his attention-whore side so I'll continue staying away from that. His flopping has gotten better from a season or two ago.

My only gripe would be being forced to take in his annoying stans, but if it comes with a ring on it I can bear it. Anyway, like 2010, I'm not going to hold my breath.

My guess is you were 5 the last time we had a championship. I was 17. I want to live through more, to be content with last 'chip 16 years ago makes you a pretty crappy fan. Every year they lose I basically cry. I actually care about winning. Sorry.

The defense argument is pretty much split. Both sides had 5 teams repping the East and West in the Top 10 for defense.

The West has just better overall offensive and defensive teams, which is undeniable. The East should be stronger next year if key players for each team stays healthy, but it still wouldn't be stronger overall than the West.

Because fans are irrational and short sighted.
It's only Chicago fans and it's only because they know they don't have a chance of getting him anyway. Last time he was a free agent, when they thought they had a shot at getting him, their city was full of "LeBron please come to Chicago" billboards.

My guess is you were 5 the last time we had a championship. I was 17. I want to live through more, to be content with last 'chip 16 years ago makes you a pretty crappy fan. Every year they lose I basically cry. I actually care about winning. Sorry.

I'm 32 in October. I was 8 when I saw the first chip. 16 when we won our last chip.

You don't have to agree with my opinion, but I am happy with having a team that battles hard and wins with good character players.

There's no guarantee lebron will win us championships, then you have all the shit that comes with a player like LeBron which I do not want.

Does anyone actually doubt that LeBron has better character than Jordan?

Yeah, MJ was really great at the game, but as far as character goes, he's basically a scumbag.

Not as bad as John Starks not playing for Chicago because Bulls steamrolled them in the playoffs with Jordan.

I am a huge MJ fan...and I agree with this. He was so Alpha that his personal life was a freaking mess. But I watch the games, not TMZ.

Best part of this "trolling" is that it's 100% accurate.

That being said, again, I want my team to sign the best players and coaches and execs to give the team the best chance to win. That's kinda the name of the game.

And, as for Lebron, I despise his flopping, and don't want him to flop when he's on the team. But you know what? Just because I dislike one player (or even smaller... one player's one trait) doesn't mean I'm not a fan, or can't be a fan.
Kobe's my favorite current player, but I can't stand his always being in "hero-ball" mode.
Pippen's my all time favorite player, and his Migraine game and the "sit-out" game and his girlfriend-beating-ways all embarrass me. He's still my favorite, though.

What's with this... need?... to like literally every single thing about every single player on your team? Jesus. Is that what makes a "stan" different than a "fan"? Turning a blind eye? WTF.

Give me Lebron. Hell, give me Lebron, Melo, KD, Howard, Noah, Westbrook, Paul, George, AD all on minimum contracts. I'll still cheer for the Bulls. I'll still love the Bulls. And I'll still love it if/when that team wins, and hate it if/when that team loses.

What would your 32 year old self say about Dennis Rodman coming to the Bulls in 1995 ?

He had a far worse relationship against Jordan and Pippen from his Pistons days, compared to what LeBron has towards the current Bulls. He took cheap shots at both players, something LeBron's flopping doesn't come close too. Yet, even though he had all the shit that came with him on and off the court, he helped the Bulls win 3 titles.

LeBron doesn't guarantee titles, but the team he would be on would always have a great chance.

A few other more minor notes...
Pippen and Jordan HATED Kukoc.
Ron Harper was an all-star caliber, 20ppg scorer before he came to the Bulls.
Cartwright was a premier post defender and, again, despised by most Bulls players.
Rodman was already covered.

Each of those situations could be considered "sell-outs". So.. yeah.
