Knicks, Rockets Sign-And-Trade Of Carmelo For Harden Possible

In a radio appearance, Chris Broussard reported that the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks could agree upon a sign-and-trade of Carmelo Anthony for James Harden.

The Rockets could then sign LeBron James with anticipated cap space created by trading away Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin in order to form a Big 3 with Anthony and Dwight Howard.

James and Anthony have reported interest in playing together.

Harden was a first-team All-NBA selection, but there have been questions on whether his game fits with Howard.

Howard is the perfect fit for these superstar team ups. Rebounds, defense, doesn't need the ball in his hands. LeBron/Melo would play good off eachother too. I'd expect LeBron to really embrace playing a Magic like role while Melo would get buckets & due to his versatility would be a much better fit than Wade ever was.

LeBron & Melo have been friends for years. Melo played on a Nuggets team filled with personalities and never clashed to the point where it destroyed the team. Howard is iffy but success breeds happiness.

There all abit older now but for one season 3 players, this would probably be my choice. Melo not minding to close out games even helps cover LeBron's aggressiveness from time to time. LeBron can run the offense like a PG and not take away anything from Carmelo like he did with Wade. He can sit back and score a ridiculous 22-24 points a game. Howard rebounds, blocks shots, gets 15-18 points a night. Melo can play off the ball, in the post, space the floor and because of Howard not needing the ball as much as another perimeter player could still get his ISO game on even with LeBron.

Just my opinion but I think the appeal of LeBron/Melo to LeBron would be him being able to play like a Magic. Gun for a triple double every night and not have to worry about scoring 27 points a game. Couldn't do that with Wade, Wade played a similar game to LeBron. Wade needed to be put in the same role as LeBron to maximize his talents.

I doubt lebron would want melo the 1st option. This guy wants a stacked team so he could statpad while at the same time winning rings.
