Who did you want over Randle?
Vonleh (wanted Gordon, but he went super early; Smart would've been nice too), but Young and D'Antoni really dug our grave.

Hoping they trade the pick. I don't see the upside.

Randle reminds me of Rodney Rogers when he was drafted.

Great pick.

Kobe plays great with post players.

Rather him than another wing. Pretty obvious theyre letting gasol walk. They need a power forward

You don't like Vonleh? Definitely not a fan of going for a safe, low upside pick here.

I hope we grab a big FA or trade for Love. Don't want another sub-30 win season.

It's a good pick don't know why OP is so pissed, you would think we just passed over Embiid or something.

Maybe I'm overreacting, I'll have to learn to love him I guess. Just was (irrationally perhaps) expecting a high upside guy.

Vonleh has more upside, was a fan of Stauskas too.

But more so I'm pissed at Young and D'Antoni again for winning games that meant nothing.

Hoping for the best obviously.

You were not getting a player better than Randle at 7. I thought that was an excellent value pick. :confusedshrug:

He could be really good.

who else is gonna be the number 1 option? Shaq passed the torch to gasol, now gasols passing the torch to randle. #Thecycle

Let me tell you... as a fan of a Big 10 team, so I watched a good bit of them... no way I would have taken either Vonleh or Stauskas over Randle.

And, I like both of those guys, especially Stauskas. Randle was a Top 5 pick all year and you got him at 7. Rejoice.

I reckon he will be a steal. It's been said to death but he reminds me of a more athletic version of Zach Randolph which is pretty damn good. At one point there were talks that he was an option for the #1 pick.

I would've been happy with Vonleh as well.

i've only read vonleh's very good scouting reports, but i watched the sec. randle was the only consistent player in that kentucky squad. until know i still can't believe how they managed to get to the finals.

I was fine with either one, leaning towards Randle but had it been Vonleh that would've been cool too..

Fact is it's a crapshoot, always is... you don't know for sure what you got until the end of their first season

He was probably the most consistent, best player in college basketball last year. Now, obviously you have to factor things like upside, injuries and the transition to the NBA when picking these guys, but when I really think about it, it is hard to believe Randle fell to 7.

All year long, everyone was thinking potentially Top 3, Top 5 at worst. Just like I didn't think there was any way the Sixers could justify passing on Embiid at 3, I don't see how the Lakers could justify passing on Randle at 7.

Too much talent, too much value.

I'm gonna check out APBRmetrics for a while, hoping some of the college/draft analytics guys saw something in him. :lol

Why do people keep harping on Randle's wingspan? It's 7'0. Very good.

However, Vonaleh has a 7'4 wingspan and hands bigger than Kawhi Leonard.

Bruh chill the fvck out. Randle was a great pick. As long as he comes with the attitude that he's going to outwork everybody on the floor the kid has a very bright future ahead of him. Kevin Love was another guy that people said his size and lack of athleticism was going to hurt him. He turned out not half bad. Vonleh to me has a high bust factor. He sounds like Samuel Dalembert that shoots 3's.....
