Dude he was drafted 5 minutes ago

Why are you allready worrying about him guarding all stars in their primes?

He'll be matching up with guys like LMA who have pretty big height/wingspan advantages on him :confusedshrug:

Guys of LMA's height, like AD and Randolph. We saw what LMA did to a smaller defender like Terrence Jones...48 and 43?

Bully them on offense, get them in foul trouble,

He can't guard him, but when LMA is on, neither can Dwight Howard.

He's not. He'll foul out in 5 minutes.

He's a prospect player. Thinking about it the Lakers didn't really have a choice. The draft falls off big time after Marcus Smart.

Who can guard LMA? He's a top 10 player in the league, and is a top guy at his position.

Randle is a superb offensive rebounder. He may even end up being a 6th man, I am not convinced that Pau will leave LA

Why are nikkas saying who can guard LMA?

Randle is going to struggle defensively. He can't guard guys like LMA, Love, Griffin, Bosh, etc.

I really like him, he's very wide around the hips and really strong. Let's see if he doesn't pick up a nice little 17 foot jumper then he could be really hard to guard.

Also he's a good kid and hard worker.

randle will do fine, there's other guys in the league his size who get by ok.

Spurs team defense shut him down. Splitter can't stop LMA. There is a reason LMA has destroyed him in the past. Spurs played a great team defense to force him into tough shots.

You know it was a great pick for the Lakers when these fools come out of the word work to start knocking him down 5 minutes after he's drafted :lol

Which is why I hope the Lakers get a coach who will preach defense. If Lakers team D is solid, it covers individual defense deficiencies.

Easier said than done though. Adding a money jump shot is really tough. I know he's a guard but I've been hearing Tyreke Evans is going to get a jump shot for years now. Still waiting. I would look at a guy like Terrence Jones when comparing Julius Randle to a big. It's going to be a slow development. He's not going to have a dominate rookie year.

If he can marginalize his defensive liabilities with resounding offensive production in the post, it'll be a worthwhile pick.

If not, Lakers are just as ****ed.

I think Randle is a bit more polished and can play inside a bit more. He also is a better rebounder. I think he is a bit more NBA ready than Jones was. He will certainly have the opportunity and minutes.

His form isn't terrible and that's a plus, I think it's natural for his progression to get better shooting, in high school he was solely playing down low or finishing close to the basket. Last year he opened up a bit more and took it off the dribble from the outside and faceup, he made a lot of mistakes and learned from it. Towards the end of the year he even showed another dimension with his 5 or 6 assist game where he was playing as a full blown stretch four driving and kicking.

On top of that he's got the rebounding which almost always translates well, looks like the new Zbo but not starting out with a bad attitude.

How do Blake Griffin and Kevin Love? Both under 6-9 barefoot.

No Splitter sonned him in the post. Youre in denial
