Aaron Gordon? A+

Drunk me approves.

Edit: Also Dario Saric.

Hennigan is like the Einstein of drafting minus the proven formulas.

Therefore you drink?

YES.

Except your franchise ****s you in the ass, instead of making good draft decisions.

Gonna cry myself to sleep.

They aren't terrible just not as good as we could have taken. At least all our young guys are good defenders I guess. Do you need to score points to win a basketball game? Someone tell hennigan we need a scorer

Gordon has ELITE defensive instincts...good pick at #4. I don't think Orlando had the luxury of waiting around for an 18 year old (maybe) PG straight out of Australian HS. Utah can. Gordon is young too but he's ready to go.

Will be interesting to see how he evolves.

Good pick, but the better pick IMO would have been Exum.

Guess we'll see how each player pans out. Gordon as a prospect is impressive defensively, but his offense is dogshit.

The Magic are definitely going to have to win games for the next couple years on the merits of their defense and rebounding, because with Gordon, Oladipo, and Payton, they will have a serious problem scoring the basketball.

Exum isn't too sharp offensively either, but as a 6'6 point he will create advantageous mismatches inherently which a well coached team will be able to exploit.

Not a bad pick at all. Could be considered a safe pick if you aren't a believer in the Dante Exum hype train. I think everyone was just surprised because it seemed like the Magic were set on drafting Exum. At worst, at worst the Magic just drafted Kenneth Faried.

besides the fact that looking at his stats on FT, it looks piss poor (no clue why, since I didn't watch him play in college)

and most likely the fact that since he's still really young, having to adjust to the NBA rules/pace etc is going to hurt his rookie year's production.

it's a safe pick.

the 4th pick in this year's draft is probably where it's odd for others given how "deep" it's suppose to be. But he probably could be a #1 pick pick on any given year when the draft is "weak"

I guess there are plenty of decent "combo" PG in the market where they can offer the money to.

Had they been able to take McDermott at 12 though.

the sixers and the magic aren't in the same city, or share an arena do they?

exactly. most people here haven't even seen exum play but the keep parroting that we should have picked him.

Alright I sobered up, I think we did an ok job, we went with the safe picks but Gordon is pretty good.

I know nothing about Saric though.

Okay so we didn't really overpay for Payton since the pick is so protected:

2017 first round draft pick from Philadelphia
Philadelphia's 1st round pick to Orlando protected for selections 1-11 in 2017 or 1-8 in 2018; if Philadelphia has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Orlando by 2018, then Philadelphia will instead convey its 2018 2nd round pick and 2019 2nd round pick to Orlando

Good move Hennigan.

You think you'll still be picking 1-8 in 2018? I hope for your sake that's not true...

What? They are talking about Philly dummy. It was originally Phill's pick.
