So the Heat got Napier who seems a lot like Mario Chalmers coming out of school. The shooting and clutch gene are there and both slipped to the later part of the draft... Now that Chalmers seems to have shown a ceiling could Napier provide Chalmers a spark through competition? Or is Chalmers gone?
When it comes to veteran PG help Miami could look at a guy like Ramon Sessions...
I like seeing Bill Simmons whine. Suck it Simmons.

I hope Spo puts Chalmers in the dog house and forces him to earn back his starting job because what he did in the Finals, any D-leaguer would have probably done better.

this was supposed to happen when Norris Cole came to the team and started showing improvement...Chalmers never CONVINCINGLY won back the starting PG, they chose to play him due to his size over Cole, but Cole was definitely the better of the 2 IMO

Cole was the speed guy whereas Chalmers was the 3 point specialist.

and Chalmers quickly relinquished that to Cole too, as Cole became a pretty descent 3pt shooter
Cole's only issue for me is his driving to the basket with ill-advised lay-up attempts...more times than not, he's missing or gettin blocked. smarten up in that aspect and he's pretty solid

Agreed. And Cole could take care of the ball just a bit better.

Chalmers is gone. If I were the heat, I would try and get shaun livingston, idk if the nets plan on resigning him, but he is coming off a great season, very underrated fa this year
this would be a good pick-up for the Heat...he fills SF SG and PG spots from the bench, I am hoping this comes to fruition

I could live with a Cole And Napier PG rotation if Heat land a big like Gortat and a young athletic Wing guy.

The heat should in fact try to keep Chalmers IMO and have 2 point guards on the court anytime Lebron is resting.
Chalmers-Cole lineups were supposed to give them a spark defensively, providing quickness aand better decision-making... none of that happened.

The Heat need to look to add depth and bench talent if Wade and Bosh renegotiate. Players I would give a look at if I were them:
Andray Blatche
Josh McRoberts
Shawn Marion
Dejuan Blair
Darren Collison
Nick Young
Jordan Hill
Aminu
Okafor
There are a lot of good players that they can sign to build a real team not named Melo or Lowry. They clearly need to get better depth on the wings and some talent up front. I have no idea what their cap situation will be but I think they have a lot of room to build a team that is better than last year.
Collison/Napier
Wade/Allen/Nick Young
James/Marion
Bosh/McRoberts
Jordan Hill/Birdman
If they could find a way to make a team like that work, then I think they are title favorites again. No clue if that's realistic cap wise but my point is that they have a lot of options.

valid point...how is Livingston's defense overall? i'm pretty sold on the height factor and handling ability from him, plus he is a pretty good . if he's used off the bench as he was in Brooklyn, and Cole be your starter, it can work. but definitely understand the shooting aspect needed.

Cole is better than Chalmers...I keep Cole before re-signing Chalmers. Chalmers will likely look for a suitor to give him the $3-5mil year he's seeking. Perfectly fine in having Cole/Napier tandem duke it out to win starting PG and then rotate otherwise.
if Livingston is had, it would pretty amazing to have a starting lineup of:
C/Bosh
Bosh/PF
Lebron
Wade
Livingston
I could live with Livingston and Gortat signings and get another wing guy for rotation. Bosh and Wade take paycuts this could easily happen within Budget.

So you want to surround Lebron with elite shooters like Livingston and Wade + have Bosh play both the PF and C? :lol

completely agree on this...Lowry, though a really good player, isn't what the Heat need. he's using up money we can allocate to better role players.
the mock team you have is very descent...would definitely be happy if this were the 2014-15 Heat squad, maybe save for Nick Young...he's fun and exciting, won't refuse a shot but I don't think he fits the nature of this team personally. his talent is below his ego...not what you need on a title contending squad.

context of the english language, very hard for some  the "/" means a center or (/) Bosh and same goes for Bosh or (/) a PF.
of course Bosh can't fill 2 spots on the floor, pretty obvious for us even with the littlest of intellect

He could have a positive impact off the bench. You could have him bully opposing pointguards in the post, and run the offense for a few mpg. He just wouldn't be effective as a starter. He would probably be best backing up Wade, and playing with shooters.

definitely a good back-up piece...and run Napier/Cole as your starter

Anyway, Livingston is not worth it IMO for the price he would probably cost. The market is stacked with point guards, they should be able to find one that can shoot and doesn't have trouble guarding small point guards.

I get you...many PGs are available, and we don't know what Livingston will settle for but getting a poor mans Lebron in Livingston off the bench is a viable option. I still welcome it, he attacks and having that on your second unit from such a tall/quick player can be beneficial. this does jeopardize Beasley tho...which I think still deserves a shot, he's done well when given the opportunity, and Spo eliminating his presence in the playoffs was a bad move

I'd rather see Livingston playing for the Pacers. He could easily take the starting role.

Chalmers needs to be gone imo. This guy is not a starting PG.. He makes stupid mistakes all the time, takes bad fouls, never really seems to hustle and allthough some people here call him a good 3point shooter, he really isn't. He's average at best.

Livingston is the nets top priority according to nets gm billy king. That's over Paul Pierce and Andray Blatche

Livingston will probably get 3 years, $5-6 million per season.
Doubt the Heat can afford that with the Big 3 and their contracts. But you never know.
