Not ever worth 800K. :(

He's reached Juwan Howard level now...

He's not worth it anymore.. shouldn't be on the team at all.
That doesn't mean he isn't entitled to take the money you unappreciative piece of shit. Guy has just given away millions (and he's never earned that much) to make his hometown team better, and that's all you've got to say. Such a prat.

You can't pay any mind to these imbeciles. UD is not just the heart and soul of the Heat, he IS Miami/South Florida.

He'll be taken care of. Even if his current play doesn't warrant it.

Well Heat will definitely reload. I rather heat go with Cole and Napier at point on the cheap let Chalmers walk and sign a quality wing and center plus big 3.

Agreed, he got so bad lately. I used to think he was a very solid player up until the 2012 finals tbh.

3 year 6m is what he'll probably get + some guartantees that he'll be part of the team once he retires which means more money that way.

Haslem fell off after that horrific lisfranc fracture in 2010. That injury really ****ed him up. He was never the same afterwards.

It's the only way forward for the Heat.

Spurs had Tony, Tim, Tiago and Manu on 12.5, 10, 9.2 and 7 mil each respectively. That's 38.7mil.

BIG 3 were collectively on 56.7mil.

Diaw was on 4.7 and UD 4.3, UD is a heat player for life and a champion of the club, but clearly the Spurs were getting more value on their cap space.

Riley is doing it again....

Surprising news... Haslem wasn't eating up a ton of salary anyways. But he'll likely sign a longer more lucrative deal in the long run. Maybe $3M a year for 3 years. He's a good veteran and leader to have on the team. All-time Heat rebounder.

We all saw what the Knicks were like without Jason Kidd, Camby, Kurt Thomas, Rasheed.

Hey guys let's all take paycuts so we can collude with the competition even more. Known colluders will continue to collude.

Will he come back with a vet minimum contract and end his playing career as a Heat lifer?

I hope so. It would hurt for me to see him in another uniform.

The Heat have about 57.5 million dollars in cap space.

It's very possible they can have enough space left to sign Melo.

Yep, you know they're coming back stronger when Wade and Haslem opt out of money that's far above their market value. Similar to the Spurs w/ Richard Jefferson.

No it's not.

The salary cap is projected to be 63 million.

James/Wade/Bosh are going to combined for at least 48ish to 50 million. These dudes aren't going to take THAT much less. And when you account for roster charging cap holds, along with Cole, Napier's caphold, they'll have around maybe 8-9ish million. Enough for possibly a Lowry, or breaking that money up into multiple guys like an Anthony Morrow or Jordan Hill.

Miami isn't going to have THAT much flexibility. These restructuring of deals are merely to bolser the middle to backend of the roster.

Haslem will open up a couple million and big 3 could save heat another 8-10 mil along with Battier retiring and letting guys like odom and Beasley go. Chalmers will be gone as well so more money will be freed up and if heat nab Lowry Cole could be part of sign and trade equation. Heat could possibly get Lowry a Wing guy off bench and a center. I expect Miami to add minimum of 3 new rotation players for next year.

He's loyal as hell.. I remember before the 2010-2011 season he rejected the Mavs and Nuggets offer to stay in Miami. Took about 10 mill less...

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-mavericks/headlines/20100712-Udonis-Haslem-turns-down-bigger-offer-5228.ece

MIAMI - Udonis Haslem is staying with the Miami Heat.

Haslem signed a five-year deal Monday worth around $20 million, more than $10 million less than he could have gotten had he accepted offers from the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.

"I would be changing my DNA if I left just for money," Haslem said.

Haslem has been teammates with Dwyane Wade for each of their previous seven NBA seasons, and Wade wanted that relationship to continue. When Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh agreed to new deals last week, each took slightly less money to allow Miami room to get other players.

And in turn, Haslem took less money to stay with the Heat as well.

"It's good to be back," Haslem said.

Haslem has averaged 10.0 points and 8.1 rebounds in his seven Miami seasons.
