Multiple Heat stars are opting out, entering free agency

Team president Pat Riley was informed that Udonis Haslem and Dwyane Wade decided to exercise the early termination option in their contracts, according to agent Henry Thomas, and the moves put into motion a plan that could retool the Heat

Wade told the Heat on Saturday that he is opting out of the final two years and nearly $42 million in his contract, and will become a free agent on Tuesday

Chris Bosh's agent informed Miami Heat President Pat Riley that Bosh will exercise his contract's early termination option and become a free agent July 1.

Henry Thomas, Bosh's agent, told Riley on Sunday afternoon, one day after Thomas told Riley that two of his other clients, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem, also will become a free agents this summer.

"Today we were notified of Chris' intentions to opt-out of his contract," Riley said in a news release. "Chris is one of the most versatile and dynamic big men in this league, and he has been an instrumental key to our championship success over the last four seasons. We look forward to meeting with Chris and his agent in the coming days to discuss keeping him in Miami for many years to come."
