Let's say you are starting a new franchise which prime point guard would you want to build around:

1. Jason Kidd
or
2. Steve Nash

Kidd without hesitation.

Kidd's defense, leadership, and intangibles as an alpha male make this selection easy for me.

westbrook over both but out of both listed I'll go with Nash because he seems much more loyal

Kidd. He won a championship with Dirk. Nash couldn't.

Nash is a system player. He did not average 10+ assists in Dallas.

I'd take kidd despite Nash being for sure the better offensive player but kidd was good offensively overall just not a good shooter but his defense and rebounding more then makes up for the offensive gap

You can't go wrong with either on the court, and part of being a new team is building community support so I'm taking the one that doesn't go around knocking down tress in his SUV and generally being an embarrassment to the franchise wherever he goes

I'm taking Nash

Nash. He's a better fit in the current "stretch the floor shoot a million 3's" era and much better longevity as a star. You can't defend perimeter players these days anyway.

I think he is much easier to build around. Rarely saw prime Kidd coz I hated there bland jerseys when I was younger. :oldlol:

I tend to think that if you are starting a franchise

you pick the guy who's won the MVP

New question: What if you are trying to win a championship?

Me Jason Kidd:

For new franchise, Steve Nash because of his marketability. He was a flashier passer IMO and a great shooter but nothing else more than a John Stockton with 0 defense.
