there's no way that 20 million go as far in NYC or LA as it would in OKC, the current cap structure really privileges the small market teams with low cost of living. The anti-lakers/knicks bias in the league is too much

cost of living doesnt matter as much as states with no income tax.

Cost of living doesn't matter, the only thing that is noticeably more expensive for a player making 7 figures is accommodation. But considering houses have an increasing resell value even that doesn't matter.

Well Imagine this advantage. Florida and Texas don't have state income tax.

Cost of living is damn near a non issue unless it is a fringe NBA player on a non guaranteed contract or 10 day contract. (LOL remember Linsanity? Dude was couch surfing and taking the taxi wherever he went).

Most players with lucrative guaranteed multi year contracts can afford those lavish penthouses in NYC or LA suburban houses.

Why should there be ANY cap?

Why should there be ANY cap?

The major leagues was infiltrated by the dems and is a platform for them to spread their socialistic propaganda.

cost of living is always an issue.

10 million in Los Angeles is not the same as 10 million in San Antonio. everything costs significantly more, from home prices to insurance to groceries... no matter how much money you make it sucks to have to spend more than necessary.

but as others mentioned, an even bigger factor than cost of living are taxes. Texas = 0 tax. california = 14% tax. that's huge. that's $140,000 every $1 million. a 10 million dollar contract in texas is effectively a 8.6 million dollar contract in California.

that's the reason I'm on the verge of moving my company to Austin. Been in Los Angeles my whole life, but the taxes I pay here would be the mortgage on a nice home in Austin. It makes a difference, no matter how much you make and it absolutely does factor into a decision to take a contract from a team.

Moaning about 14% tax :oldlol: I get taxed 25% and I only earn the equivalent of $37k. All NBA players would be taxed 45% in the UK (any income over $256k)

14% is the state tax, that's on top of the federal tax which is significantly higher and we have no choice but to honor.
