@BrettNBA 3m
Kyle Lowry is finalizing an agreement remain a member of the Toronto Raptors, reports @michaelgrange.

Grange is a very good source for Raptors stuff...Grange hasn't tweeted this yet himself, but Brett Poirier is usually plugged in to this stuff.

Great for Toronto if true, would have been terrible to lose him.

Though, FA hasn't even opened...if this is true, Toronto must have offered him a great deal for him to not even play the market.

Good. I didn't want him to leave. I think they can be very competitive in the East.

The team still has ways to go if they really want to truly compete in the East (overall in the NBA) even if Kyle comes back. If he does, I see us winning the division again, but with the rest of the core starting to produce even more.

Let's wait to see the confirmation, though.

I don't know why, but that has become really peculiar to see. DeRozan's name either changes to "Derozan" or "Derozen", same thing with his first name. I get not capitalizing the M and R of the 3rd letter in his name, but where does that "e" come from ?

Same. To keep him away from Miami, LA and whoever else was interested, it would take something like this.

But Jesus titty****ing Christ that's a lot. Masai needs to make some VERY shrewd moves coming up to avoid this team being locked into another round of mediocrity. Also pray to whatever god he might believe in that Jonas and/or Ross reach their ceilings.

Don't they hate DeMar too, even after his breakout season?

Yup. Acccording to their objective minds, DeMar's production last year could be replaced by ANY SG in the league, that he's just fortunate that he's on this team otherwise he would have been playing overseas, that he should have been traded while his value his high, etc etc...

There are logical posters on that site, but the ridiculous stances they take on the players on this team makes me want to believe that some of them are either too young, social degenerates, or not real people.

I've also seen "Valanciunas should be traded, he's a scrub" threads too. It's bi-polar as hell on that forum.

If he does get this deal, we probably are losing Vasquez/Patterson too.

That source was false.

And actually, in a bidding war ? Not really. You have to over bid sometimes. Like I've said earlier, 4 years/50 million would be the max to give Kyle. Off course if he accepts something lower than that would be great.

Personally, too much would be anything much more than what I thought was the max for his market.

Nelson is a sieve on defense on the level of a Steve Nash. He's better at running the point than Chalmers/Cole, but then again so are 90% of the other PGs in the game. What was once his strength (scoring) is now hardly worth pursuing since he's shot under 40% for the last 2 seasons.

Good to see Lowry get paid finally (assuming the reports of 14+ million per are true). Also didn't make much sense to leave Toronto from a basketball standpoint (don't hear that often). Interested to see how TO builds off this past season.

Are they going to try to re-sign Vasquez or will Lou Williams take that spot? Totally different players but Lou could share the court with Lowry like Vasquez did at times.

After hearing pitches from the Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets, free agent guard Kyle Lowry will contemplate his choices over the next day or two, sources told ESPN.com Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have also shown interest in Lowry.

The Miami Heat contacted Lowry but have not yet set up a meeting or progressed talks, sources said.

Retaining Lowry is a top priority for the Raptors, who met with Lowry on Tuesday. He led them to their first playoff bid since 2008 this past season.

The Rockets met with Lowry just after midnight at the start of free agency. Houston is hosting Carmelo Anthony for a visit on Wednesday.

Lowry played for the Rockets from 2008-12.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24604460/report-lowry-weighing-four-year-44-million-offer-from-raptors

[QUOTE]Raptors free agent Kyle Lowry has his offer from Toronto, and is reportedly going to take some time to think about it. That could mean an (expected) acceptance or rejection of the deal between Wednesday and Friday.

Meanwhile, Sportsnet.ca reports that the deal is built around an $11 million per year structure, with the debate over a fifth year at the same rate.

According to league sources the Raptors are comfortable going to $11 million for four years. The real decision will be what they want to do with the fifth year
