Miami's interest in Lowry is undeniable, but keep hearing Raps feel good about their chances with offer poised to start in $12 mil range

If teams like the Heat and Lakers are interested, the Raptors know they will have to overpay to retain a talent like Lowry.

The line of teams chasing Kyle Lowry is so long that the Raptors are now said to be weighing whether to offer a fifth year to clinch his re-signing, tweets Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

While lots has been said about Miami - I am less than convinced the Heat are in.

It requires a generous subsidy of under market contracts from LBron / Bosh and a true market value contract from Wade/Hasleem.

Kyle says he wants to win...publicly...

That limits the competition to:

1) Houston if they really can pull the trigger on Lin

2) Dallas who are saddled with Felton vis a vis Knicks

3) Lakers who have cap

I don't see Indiana, Okla, GS, Clippers, Nuggets, Bulls, SanAn, Portland ...say the other teams on the cusp making that move.

I would say a 5 year deal at $60 Million averaging $12M per year (start higher and end lower) is likely what it takes. Derozan plus a veteran premium.

Note this is the same money Derozan will demand in 3 years when his deal runs out... essentially dedicating $25 or so among 2 players.

Update:

Shawn Livingstone signed with GS.

That in all likelihood absolutely removes GS and potentially removes the Rockets as it was rumored that Lin's bad deal was being dealt to GS for Cap Flex next year 2016 or year after.

I seemed to have overlooked the Hawks as they just did a deal with TO to free cap space and have a PG... but funnier things have happened.

Curious also if Pistons try to move on a PG like Lowry via Monroe ??
