:facepalm if you have a problem with it the solution is to UN-LIMIT max contracts so you can pay anyone as much as you want within the salary cap.

Let's say you can pay 15m for either of these guys
Player A should earn 16m from his production
Player B should earn 30m from his production.

They both end up getting 15m and that's how guys like Joe Johnson get paid like they're Lebron or Kobe.

It gives teams a HUGE advantage to snag one of the players who is better than the "max" because they can only pay the "max"
