OP isn't a bran stan at all. But the way you talk about him so much and have him as your avatar, I wouldn't be surprised if you're a closet stan.

That's your opinion. Some people have him in their Top 15. Personally I think he's somewhere between 6-8 on the all time list.

i look at it as tiers ( in public opinion. NOTE* this is not my actual ranking )
1st tier = jordan
2nd tier = kobe/magic/bird
3rd tier = wilt/kareem/russell/shaq/lebron
4th tier = duncan/hakeem/oscar/west/erving
this is just how the world views these guys. doesnt matter if we argue for decades online about i/
people just accept certain things. kobe is accepted/ worshiped/respected with magic/bird

you know... this could very well be argued by a ton of people
goat baseball player = Babe Ruth ( 1 mvp )
goat hockey player = Maurice Richard ( 1 mvp )
goat football player = Barry Sanders ( 1 mvp )

I agree with the point you're trying to make, but no one on earth would put Richard over Gretzky as the NHL GOAT. Gretzky is more of a unanimous GOAT in his sport than Jordan is

Thats bit too generous but maybe
but only 1 MVP and a 45% shooter??
Shaq has really helped Kobe's legacy

Wherever he's ranked, he's definitely above LeBron, who isn't even the 3rd best player Post-Jordan. (Kobe, Duncan, Shaq are all better)

well Kobe shot blocked Malone and left Malone ringless.
while Lebron assisted Delonte by driving himself out of Cleveland.
Over time?

Prime and overall performance (how i rate players) only shaq is better
Currently on my alltime 00-10s list Kobe is 3 and Lebron is 4 (Shaq, duncan 1 2), but that's only because Lebron was with the cleveland crapaliers in the 2000-2010 decade
Its nearly guarenteed that Lebron is 1 or 2 in the 2010-2020 decade tbh
I don't really know how people can compare people from different eras objectively, though. There's literally ZERO reliable ways.
I prefer to assign rankings by era/decade

He never was closer to 1 to begin with, so, nothing to see here.

Babe Ruth didn't play against blacks or Hispanics how can he be the goat? If you took 30% of the potential players out of any sport everyone else looks better. Willie Mays is the Goat of baseball. If people approached the roids debate logically, Bonds would be GOAT.
I'm taking
Bird
MJ
Hakeem
Duncan
Shaq
Magic
over Kobe right off the bat. Everyone else I haven't seen enough to comment on. Kobe and Bron are probably neck and neck on the GOAT list.
I've watched a decent number of prime Charles Barkley games and I'd rather have him than Kobe too. Shame you can't bring him up because of 0 rings. The best team Chuck was ever on was his rookie year

It depends on your perspective.
If you judge the greatest players solely on accolades, he is probably around 5th or 6th all time (Jordan, Kareem, Russell, Duncan and maybe Magic are ahead).
If it's stats/impact, he's probably lower than that.
I have Kobe ahead of LeBron right now, but if you asked me who I'd draft to build a team around then I'd still pick LeBron. Kobe is in the 9-11 range imo.
