Supposed to be out for 7 months, he was about to cash in. Stein reported on twitter http://bit.ly/1vumR3K

Bad timing but at the same time could be worse. Could still be playing come the beginning of the season (roughly), but injury sounds serious. Hopefully for his sake it does dampen the contract offers.

Sucks for Patty..

Might be a blessing for the Spurs, might be able to get him back at a cheaper rate

He played the best he has ever played with a torn rotator cuff?

Damn, that's hardcore.

Anyway, that's tough for him. I.don't think iglts going to be a long term issue. I get the feeling all he had to do.to play in the World Championships was miss his medical.

Wow, shit news for someone who could of cashed in.

Was hoping he did cash in, this might be good news for someone like DJ Augustin though.

Yep. If he doesn't get any decent offers because of his injury he'd probably be best trying to get a 2 year deal with a player option for the 2nd from the Spurs. Sign on for 2-3 million since he won't play the whole year, hope to kill it in the playoffs again and opt out for your longer term deal.

^^^^ This. Though I would have loved him to stay willingly at the Spurs, the injury may force him to stay. Hope he still gets a big payday eventually.

Wow, he said he felt pain the shoulder almost all season. He torched the Heat with a torn shoulder. :oldlol:

Hope the Spurs can resign him at a decent price. Cory Joseph gets some valuable playing time and then Mills is fresh for second half of the season. Best case scenario.

He should try to get a one year deal with a contender and test his value again next season

Whew. Good news for owners. Found out about this injury before Patty Mills "cashed in" by stealing their money.

Bummer for the guy, he was about to get paid. He still has time to sign a short-term deal and get back on people's radars though.

I heard about this a couple of weeks ago, but I just thought it was a rumour. Bad news for Patty. :(

I don't see him leaving now though. And maybe the new guy will get some time at the PG.

Hope Spurs can grab him for $11m/3yr with 3rd year player option.

Perhaps the Spurs were quietly aware of Mills' situation, and drafted Anderson on the basis of it? Wouldn't put it past them, they're extremely tight-lipped when it comes to releasing information so they could have been tracking this situation for awhile now

He's only really valuable on the Spurs. I suspect he would struggle on a team like Charlotte or something. :confusedshrug:
