This thread is for people who like producing music of all genres.

My hope for this thread is that everyone who likes the idea of creating and producing their own music can get in here to discuss their methods and possibly share drafts of what they come up with to get some feedback.

I currently am in the process of trying to figure out which DAW I want and how to steal it and how to learn it as fast as possible.

Meh mostly rap beats and shit.. I have some really decent projects tho and once made a simple melody that almost even made into a TV..

Have one beat that is better than "believe me"

Nice. What setup do you use to make the beats?

About to buy this audio interface (http://www.amazon.com/Tascam-US-100-USB-Audio-Interface/dp/B002QQC1ZI/ref=sr_1_19?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1404282458&sr=1-19&keywords=audio+interface) and pair it with the mixer I already have and then I'm going to find a way to crack Reason 7 and then I'll be recording a bunch of shit in my free time. For those who like alternative rock I may share some of it on ISH

which DAW you use doesnt matter... almost all of them these days are interchangeable with one another, one cannot do things better than the other, maybe more efficiently but not better in any noticeable difference.

The best way for you to select a DAW is by testing them out. A list of features may not be as important as its workflow.

I use Reason because I prefer its workflow over any other DAW for my needs. It isn't perfect, and other DAWs offer some better features. But I feel more comfortable using it than any other DAW.
