lol Westbrook is stronger than him and more athletic. He'll get bullied because he's just a rookie that still has a long way to go

Marcus Smart's lane agility time of 10.82 is faster than John Wall (10.84), Russell Westbrook (10.98) and Chris Paul (11.09)

Marcus Smart also bench pressed 185 pounds 19 times, tied for 3rd best at the NBA Combine this year. One of best ever among PGs historically

He stands at 6-foot-4 and weights 227 pounds, making him the heaviest player at the point guard position in Draft Combine history

he's too fat, he should worry about catching up to westbrook instead of bullying him

What do you mean exactly?

Because Westbrook will most likely be able to stay in front him and lock him down, and Smart most likely won't be able to do the same on the other end.

JJ Redick bigger vert than Iggy and Monta Ellis was the worst athlete in the whole draft according to numbers.

Westbrook is an amazing talent but he doesn't really play a bullying style game. He is far more explosive while slashing through contact while Smart is a downhill stright line use of strenght to get to the basket.

Bench Press means absolutely **** all. Pointless stat that has no bearing on how strong someone really is.

So does this make him a PG-Charles Barkley/Ron Artest? Ridiculous size, strength and speed combination.

idk, Westbrook doesn't draw a whole lot of contact when he goes for his full speed pull up jumpers.

he doesn't average that many FTs. and all he has to do is draw some contacts from Smart and get to the line.

I had already compared John Wall with his potential to Billups.

Smart can certainly make a run for it.

He doesn't play a bully style? Tell the Clippers and Spurs that who were forced to double him everytime he went to the post.

No Point Guard (Healthy Rose is exception) can compare to GOATbrook.

GOATbrook is straight dominating every pointguard in league. Best point guard in league and 3rd best player in league. (KD and LeBron are 1 and 2)

I'm guessing Westbrook is significantly more athletic now than he was back in '08

Marcus Smart is quite the physical specimen, I'd be scared as hell if I were a fan near the court at any games he's playing in next year

Smart is a superstar to be. I had him as the #2 prospect behind Parker.

The only point guard in recent memory to bully people was Billups. And he was able to do it to bigger guards like Deron. Only people I didn't see him bully were Kidd and Derrick Rose. Wade had like 15 pounds on Derrick Rose and couldn't bully him like he did bigger shooting guards. Westbrook is in his physical prime now, so he will know how to use his body better than Smart, but at 25 pounds and similar height with little body fat it won't make a difference. Unless Smart has balance problems. The only question is how long is it before Smart starts bullying everybody else. At 23 yrs old its definitely happening.

I understand he did well on the tests, but on every single highlight reel it looked like he has:

-A slow first step
-Lack of explosiveness.

Every one.

-Lack of explosiveness.

Every one.None of that has anything to do with his strength but he has explosiveness. He stayed in front of Wiggins nearly every play. His tap ins, alleyoops, blocking shots with the palm over the ball, people flat footed on thirty foot drives to the hoop, easy layups in traffice are all reflections of explosiveness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwtFCqyMrz8 I don't know what highlights you were looking at.

would you consider moving him to the 3 and play a little bit like Dominque Wilkins as a career suicide?

Griffin can probably squat a whole lot, but still lacks the lower body "weight". I mean he's probably stronger and difficult to back down than what I'm giving off here. But just imagine him playing the 3. who's gonna guard this guy?

I compare him to Wilkins because the 3 wasn't a big part of his game earlier in his career, plus it's probably something Griffin can develope if this is a move for good.

Griffin might be able to play the 3, but Love can't.

just don't know if it's a career suicide move and all.
