View Full Version : Carmello is the Anti-Lebron, he will re-sign in New York

Let's face it. It's his best option.
He'll receive the most money there.
He won't win in the East if Lebron's there, so no point going to Chicago.
New York has great leadership under Phil and Derek Fisher.
They turned Tyson Chandler's toxic contract into solid role players and draft picks.
If they can unload Amare's expiring for more role players.
They already signed Lamar Odom who looks like he's re-focused.
Land Pau.
Most importantly, implement a team system that keeps the ball moving.
That's a quick turnaround. Imagine what Phil will do in another year or two?
Trust in the Zenmaster.
If I were Melo i'd re-sign in New York.

Melo isn't a coward. He doesn't need guarantees.
Melo just got my RESPECT for the rest of his career.
Melo won ROY, too. Should've been MVP when the Knicks won 54 games with Smith as their 2nd option.

Lets be real, which one of you would turn down 130 ****ing million dollars and a life in New York for the possibility of a championship? :biggums:
If he was the anti LeBron, he wouldn't have strong armed himself out of Denver, dip shit.

Carmello will find greatness the right way. No short cuts. He is in hell right now but if he sticks it out then he will gain my respect unlike Lebron "shortcut to greatness" James

Ya, I guess you forgot about that Chris Paul/Amare/Melo shit. It just didn't work out for them. :oldlol:

going to the Knicks is staying in the East though? And Bulls would be loaded with Melo, so yes they could beat Lebron. It's not that simple to say they have no chance.
New York has great leadership under Phil and Derek Fisher.
Phil is a rookie Gm and Fish is a rookie coach. Will be a learning curve for Fish especially.
They turned Tyson Chandler's toxic contract into solid role players and draft picks.
They upgrade slightly at PG downgraded to Dalembert who might not make the team. Solid role players? We'll see if Larkin pans out. Trade changes not much. Knicks will be at best a first round exit team next season.
If they can unload Amare's expiring for more role players.
good luck with that
They already signed Lamar Odom who looks like he's re-focused.
Refocused at how old? He's garbage man, his career has been over.
Land Pau.
Not happening. He has to take far less in NYC and won't win shit. Again, good luck with that.
Most importantly, implement a team system that keeps the ball moving.
Which takes time. It took the MJ bulls years to get it down.
That's a quick turnaround. Imagine what Phil will do in another year or two?

Way too much negativity in your post
At the end of the day you need to trust Phil Jackson.
A lot of people forget that the Lakers were a lottery team in 04-05, then almost beat he Phoenix Suns in the playoff the next season with a shit roster BUT with Phil coaching. That was the year I knew this guy knew his bball and wasn't just riding MJ/Shaq/Kobe

Yeah he is the anti-Lebron...
Lebron: 2 rings, 4 MVP's, 5 Finals, 6 conference finals, best record in the NBA thrice
Carmelo: 0 rings, 0 MVP's, 0 Finals, 1 conference finals, 0 times best record in the NBA
Carmelo is 30. He has maybe 2-3 elite years left--and it appears he will be wasting them in New York. Carmelo will be the Dominique Wilkins of this era: a great scorer who never won or came close to winning and is largely forgotten after he retired.
If he goes to Chicago he can win rings (Chicago with Carmelo and Rose easily surpasses Miami with LeBron, washed up Wade and a 14/6 Bosh and arguably is the best team in the entire league...), be remembered forever as a champion and the guy who brought championships to one of the league's great franchises. He could be the bridge from Michael and Scottie to Carmelo and Derrick and help build a new chapter in a great team's history.
Or he could make more money in New York and lose in the first round perennially. LeBron chose winning; Carmelo appears to be choosing money.

WRONG Melo left Denver for his home town and not to be on an immediately stacked team. While Lebron left his hometown to go play in Miami on a stacked team.

Just goes to show people saying Lebron is top 5 is laughable. A lot can happen from now until the end of his sketchy career

That's assuming Derrick Rose returns to form AND plays an 82 game season. Even then, what if Miami re-loads? Your opinion is premature.
lol @ best record in the NBA as an accolade. Lebron stans reachinig.
All that matters is RINGS.
If Melo stays in New York and wins 3 rings.
He'll surpass Lebron.

Actually, he is the anti-Lebron. Melo's a career loser that cares about nothing but money. Lebron's a winner that doesn't care about making the most money in the NBA.

No. LeBron is simply a higher caliber of player. LeBron has 4 MVP's; Carmelo has only one top 5 MVP finish (3rd). Carmelo has never even made the all-NBA first team and is the third best player of his era at his position. Besides, Carmelo in New York is would not win anything. :lol
Melo - Has his dignity.
Bron - Lost his dignity.
:wtf:
There is no dignity in 37-45. Carmelo has only made it past the second round once and in New York that likely won't change...

Phil is doing something (might go down as one of the greatest offseasons of all time)
Dolan is bow a huge positive. He will pay for a winner and now he's letting someone else decide what that means.
My favorite part is that Phil isn't here to do what everybody wants. He might just do what he wants. And maybe that's not wait for another year or 2 for something to fall in his lap. Maybe he wants to go get it.

Hello insidehoops internet poster. Thank you for your wisdom.
1/3 of their careers still left.
The first 1/3 of both of their careers was similar.
The 2/3 of their careers Lebron obviously takes it.
Last 1/3 is Melo's time.
Rise. Do it the hard way melo and reap the rewards :pimp:
