GOAT shooter?

Why did the Knicks not keep him? I didn't read up on it. Toronto must've given him more money.

no pun intended

I believe he was part of the Bargnani trade...

Looked it up and yes...but wow forgot the Knicks gave up a 1st and 2 2nd picks for Bargs!

This pretty much guarantees were going to make a run at Vasquez and bring him. One less SF on the team to worry about now.

Ross
Bruno
Daniels
Fields

Hoping Fields is next to go.

That's extra 3 mil off Raptors' cap space. I think they are trying to find some rooms for Greivis Vasquez.

He can still pull streaks of 3-pointers that can turn games around.

He's not Canadian. Born in Illinois, close friends with Dwyane Wade.

Reports from Ryan Wolstat say that Vasquez is expected to get a 3 year deal/14 million. 99% the deal is about to be complete and return to the Raptors.

That would complete the rehaul. Losing about nobody important and getting some better pieces i.e. Lou Williams. Great job, Masai!

Not sure about paying 4.5 a year to a back up PG, but him and Lou Williams will make an awesome bench duo.

Poor man's Dirk who was unfortunate not to get any plays run for him in Toronto. Hopefully he becomes 1st/2nd option in Utah and puts up 20ppg on 50/40/90

Vasquez played a 6th man role and was often on the court with Lowry and did well.

They learned how to shut him down late in the season...put a chilling on his thrilling. Don't need him with Hardaway JR.- a 6-10 footer who can't defend? I'll pass.

That trade spelled doom for Grunwald.

Novak is useless on bad teams. He does nothing but hit 3's. Doesnt even bring a game running off screens. Doesn't rebound, defend, pass, hustle. He belongs on a good team like Miami where you bring him in as a utility guy and he balls because of guys like Bron, Bosh, Wade commanding attention. Add the Spurs. Didnt mean to pick the typical team just make a point. Why do the Jazz need him, because he is white? :lol

And it's something that reignites your faith in your franchise. After so many years of terrible move after terrible move from various GMs (the worst wasn't even Colangelo, it was Babcock) - it's refreshing to see a guy get so much stuff done and so competently too.

You do know that Grunwald was forced to make that trade right? Dolan and CAA made that trade.

Not sure they do? They have cap space and get a pick out of it.

Damn, as if the Western Conference needed more firepower. They keep getting better and better, and the East keeps getting worse and worse.

You think Novak makes a team THAT much better? Oh and quit overrating the western conference. This seems to be a stupid habit here.

Cap clearing trade.

Obviously more wiggle room for the Vasquez/PPatt deals, I wonder if there is another trade in the works. Hopefully we can dump Landry's sorry ass on someone. Really hope there's a post scorer out there willing to sign/be traded to TO.

Not just Landry, but maybe even Hayes too. I don't want Hayes to be the back up center anymore, he's clearly a 3rd stringer C.

well, there's a Utah Jazz jersey at the All Star game this year

for the 3 point shooting contest!!!!

Nah, Exum/Burke will probably be there for rookie/sophomore game as well

With all due respect to the both of them, by this time next year, I'll be relieved to know they're no longer on the books. That's valued cap space that can be allocated to a big free agent or multiple complimentary pieces.

Probably a wash for both teams. Doesn't free up a ton of room for the Raps, but it does get them out of 2 years, rather than the normal 1 these sort of salary dump deals do and if it's enough to keep the FA's they want then it's a help. 2nd rounder isn't much to lose either.

Jazz need shooting, which Novak certainly does well. Got 2 years on his deal, but Jazz can take that hit without much of an issue since they've got Burks, Burke, Kanter and now Exum on rookie deals and no long term deals outside of Favors and maybe Hayward if they keep him.

Terrible signing to begin with. Raptors fell in love with sooooo many wing players.

Rudy Gay
Landry Fields
Alan Anderson
Novak
TRoss
Derozan

Knicks signed Novak originally. He came to the Raps as part of the Bargs trade, and I think he was mostly thrown in to get the $ to work.

Why the Knicks felt the need to give a 4 year deal to a one dimensional shooter I have no idea, probably a classic example of outbidding yourself.
