Quitting's okay when you have nothing left to prove. It's not okay while the game is still being played.

I don't get the "repeat" in the title. But there's a lot of what ifs and shit with MJ. But he is accomplished there's no denying that. The stars see aligned perfectly for him and they prolly won't be like that for another player ever again.

when you look at Jordan's stats from his Wizard days
I'm not sure how you can say KAJ isn't just as comparable.

I'm confused. Yeah, old KAJ is comparable to old MJ, but peak level not even close.

That being said I think KAJ has a strong case for being the 2nd best all time.

I agree with this, no disrespect to KAJ but during his Laker run, he was lucky to have a stacked team. Rookie Magic won a finals MVP over him. # 2 GOAT.

Peak Jordan > peak KAJ

Agree to disagree. I started watching in the early 90s, and even if you have him as the GOAT peak (which isn't a given, but I have zero problem with it), I don't know you can say there's that much separation from Hakeem and Shaq at their bests.

I didn't get to see Kareem live, but I can't imagine he was significantly worse than either Olajuwon or O'Neal.

Eh, the voting was conducted, and Kareem won, but they didn't want to present the award to someone who wasn't there:

Nothing against Magic (who, along with Wilkes, had a monster game 6), but Kareem was a beast in that series (it's a great watch).
