I feel like his game will translate well into his mid-30's...like Timmy and Dirk.
It's possible. Once he improves his post game, it's over. Dem Dirk fadeaways all day. Dat 7'5" wingspan. Dat gawd.

He'll turn 26 before the season starts. No way he will be the best in 10 years. Too much talent in the league even though he will age well.

He will lose much athleticism and will play a lot of minutes by then considering he will play in late May/ June almost every year from now on. Plus Anthony Davis will be 30, while Parker and Wiggins will be in the middle of their prime, and that's not mentioning people who are still playing ball in highschool right now.

Not if he keeps disappearing in the playoffs

Only if he starts playing the same way in the playoffs that he does in the regular season.
But I don't think he's that kinda player. Teams toughen up in the playoffs and they gameplan.

10 years? ... So he's expected to be the best when he's what, 35 or 36?

You're thinking of another player.

when the adrenaline is going full blown out of porportion for him for a few years.
yea, he can be the best player.

Let him be the best for 1 season first before we start worrying about 10.

Lebron will be the best player in the league until he's maybe 33 years old so that's 4 more years. By then he'll have 6 titles, so after that Durant can have his shine.

Durant: 1 Finals in 7 years, 0 rings
LeBron: 5 Finals in 11 years, 2 rings
Since LeBron turned 22 he has been in the Finals 5 times and the ECF 6 times---no player of his era comes close to this level of consistent competitiveness at the top--yet he is denigrated by some because his team finished 2nd out of 30 teams? Meanwhile, Chris Paul has never gotten out the second round and Carmelo has made it out the first round only twice in eleven years (one WCF and one ECSF), Howard has one Finals and two ECF's and the list goes on and on yet all these guys get a pass. Durant is playing with another top 5 player and still is ringless...
Be honest, LeBron is held to a higher standard because we all know he is on another level than his contemporaries.

nobody is ever the best for 10 straight seasons. durant isn't going to be the exception. the truth is he might not ever be the best in the league.

BY than there will be some other dude looking for that honor. Durant in 10 Years will be a liability on Defense and just a spot up streak shooter/scorer.

You can only really project for three years at a time. Anthony Davis can come into his own as early as this year. Dwight Howard has the ability to grab one of these next two years as well. Lebron might be in a new situation and still can be the man for the next two years. From 27 to 30 I just don't see anybody being better than Durant if Westbrook tones it down. In four years who knows what Griffin, Wiggins, Embiid and Anthony Davis look like.
I don't know if Durant can play like Dirk at 31 years of age. Dirk is stronger than given credit for. But I still don't see people poising any problems for Durant's shot. Don't know how Durant will handle natural weight gain. I don't see him going below 25 ppg til after 33 years of age - At the very least! if he is healthy. Biggest question marks, which aren't likely to happen, would be how he handles pressure of being number one, and players coming hard at him every day. You can't take for granted everybody has that in them but I think he will be fine.

Best player in the league? Maybe he should try outplaying Westbrook first.

A more likely scenario is that he can be the best for around the next 5-6 years. My fault. An over exaggeration on my part.
On to the next question now.
Can Kevin Durant be the greatest of all time when it's all said and done?

decade impossible , unless the league never has a post up player.
I will never get enamored of Durant at 6'11" doing back step 3's .
I'm old school , and he will never be able to defend a quick SG , or a PF in the post.
JUST look at those stick legs.
