Kittel wins first stage and Cavendish crashes a few meters from the finish in his home country, looks like a collarbone injury. Tough luck but he does cause more crashes than anyone.

Listening to Eurosport always trying to find someone else to blame for Cavendish's recklessness. They decided it was a Europcar guy who in the replay looked like he only got involved when Cavendish pushed Gerrans into him.

Lance is getting sued for $100 million. Froome is the next ticking timebomb as far as doping goes.

NIbali wins fun stage 2. Near the end Rolland tried a break and got caught, then Contador couldn't even escape on the last climb when he tried, finally Nibali took off alone. Froome didn't break a sweat would have won the stage and put some early time into the GC contenders but didn't want to highlight the superiority of his doping

Cipollini and Darrigade shit on Cav, have to include Freddy Maertens in the conversation as well.

Not sure about that. 25 wins on the biggest stage dwarfs the rest. He's a whiner but he's got a pretty good case for best.

It's not easy to compare sprinters because how good the team pretty important. Kittel's career is off to a great start though and he's gonna have an even better tour this year than last.

Some guy said England dominates cycling. I look at the past winners of Tour de France.

Last 2 times English player won it,but then, since 1903, no English won this before.

How bad are the English at sports.

Suck at basketball, suck at football, suck at Tennis, suck at Cycling etc etc.:lol

You expected something from Sky in a sprinters stage? You're a retard.

Froome is from Kenya.
Where he conveniently got bilharzia, a disease which messes with your red blood cell count in the most doping-crazy sport. Conveniently this is also the disease he claimed made him so mediocre that he got kicked out of the Giro for hanging on to the car in 2010 and wasn't wanted by any teams. Luckily Sky picked him up and taught him their special "marginal gains" so that he was suddenly a Grand Tour GC contender and a couple years later was producing higher wattage than prime unchecked Pharmstrong.

Looks like it's Richie Porte's turn for "marginal gains"

yobore
07-12-2014, 11:26 AM
Damn Talansky just crashed at the wrong time cost him about a minute and he's gonna have to go solo on the last climb, probably ruins any chance he had. The early stages have been brutal on the contenders. Going to be down to Nibali vs Contador and maybe Porte depending on how risky Sky wants to be in their application of "marginal gains". I hope Nibali holds his lead for a long time to keep it interesting but Contador's gonna get him eventually.

Jasi

Go Nibali!
This is a great chance for him, Contador will show up eventually, and Nibali's team doesn't look so strong, but the Shark of the Strait fears no mountain.

Tomorrow's is my favorite kind of ride where you get the early escapes that can hold on the whole time. My guess is some Europcar escapee be it Voeckler or Rolland gets this.

One thing I love about the TdF that doesn't exist in any other sports that I'm aware of is the way every individual and every team is out there with different goals. Agr2mondiale is killing it this year for their budget as they're riding for a stage win and team classification/r. Cannondale main goal is for Sagan to get the green jersey and that race is already pretty much locked up with 7 out of 7 top 5 finishes to start.

Awesome race by Tony Martin.
Germans on a roll yesterday :D

Nibali very smartly gave up the maillot jaune, no need to have his team work hard this early. It still a thing between Contador and him of course.
Go Shark!

The Tour is for Nibali to lose now.
Too bad though, I would have loved to watch the duel vs Contador on the mountains.

Jasi

At a point in the tour when he could just care about not falling, the Shark attacks again as soon as the road climbs up.
He's turning into a CanNIBALi!

Tourmalet and Hautacam today.
Nibali looking better and better the last few days.
Valverde is almost 5' behind.
Let's see if something worthwhile happens today.
