forget about the realistic implications unless you really understand them, who would you target if you're Pat Riley to replace Bosh?

Post up players out of the question obviously.

Spencer Hawes may have been a good fit. Or any defense and rebound guy.

Pau Gasol would be my choice. He can still score in the post and he's an excellent passer. I imagine he'd compliment LeBron very well. He's not tenacious on defense but I imagine he could still contribute because he has length.

They really should have went after hawes. Now it should be Greg Monroe

Gasol.

He'd be cheaper and would play at a similar level, with passing skills to compliment Lebron's passing skills and turn this team into a passing juggernaut, as Wade is a pretty good passer too.

True but it's not needed a ton by a center I don't think. He can still post up and score at a good clip I think. On defense he's not gonna patrol the paint but just being tall and heavy will help. Miami has to play traditional basketball though. They have to be able to get stops and not just try to get turnovers if you follow me.

Miami were a very flawed championship team. The defense and outside shooting won them the championship in 2012 and 2013.

I am not really a fan of putting Bosh at the center position. He's not a Tim Duncan who's a legitimate center because the guy is still a solid low post scorer, an a good rebounder. Bosh is a high post scorer, and he's not even the best rebounder for the heat.

there is no way they can. HE is a RFA and the pistons will match up to any level miami is able to spend.

Only a few singular players, namely Hawes, has the perfect offense given their current style of play. They need a big man who can hit a three and put a body on someone and Hawes is one of the few guys. The difference between him and Bosh is that Bosh can create his own offense and is faster so they can still switch effectively on defense.

However if the Heat went to a more traditional defense then there would be a number of individuals that could especially Gortat. But the Heat seem intent on still switching constantly on defense in order to create turn overs, but they are old as shit and it no longer works.

The question is if you had 15 mil can you name more than 20 guards in the NBA you want over wade? Because I could certainly name at 20 guards I would want (free agents and signed) that I would take and it would allow Bosh to be featured more in the offense. Give me Lowry at 12 mil and use that 3 on a solid role player instead of Wade at 15 for 60 games and zero play off production.

I have to assume Gasol can get 10/2 from LA with a year 2 option. They would have to match that.
