Miss the days when the Mets were competitive. Now they are a laughing stock and run like a small market team in the biggest market of them all. They have been ruining my summer by the time June comes around for the past 5 years.

Tennis takes a vacation too (slams) for 2 months as well.

I'll admit that I don't care about a lot of those sports (WNBA, nascar, college baseball and college hockey specifically) but how can you ignore the World Cup and Summer Olympics? That alone invalidates this thread.

At least with baseball you no longer have to choose between watching your NBA/NHL/MLB team because they often times play at the same time. So in the summer you can really devote yourself to the baseball season.

Tennis and F1 are interesting, but I can understand why some people might not be into it.

It's a more relaxed game. It might not have the flashy high scoring or big hits that you see in the NBA and NFL, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a beautiful game in its own right.

I'm saying this as a Marlins fan of all people. Even with these embarrassing years there's still compelling reasons to watch the team play, develop, and make moves for the future. There's not the same Lebron James or Peyton Manning type of storylines and media hype, but there's still some amazing stuff that happens in the MLB.

I always use this time of year to watch a lot of movies. I didn't start yet because of the WC but when it's done I will.
And Brazilian football season starts in February and goes until November, so there's something I can watch when the WC ends.
