Russell blocks Oscars first two shots...

And Wayne Embry looks 320 pounds. With the VHS quality he looks like Clayface from the Batman animated series and people still believe in listed weights.

Oscar Robertson blocked twice by Bill Russell in the first 50 seconds.

Russell was a defensive juggernaut.

I'm going to enjoy watching the entire game. Time for a beer or two.

He looks like Tractor Traylor and Mike Sweetney... but bigger.

I remember seeing these games on youtube in the past but they got deleted before I got a real chance to watch them if I'm not mistaken...Either way I don't remember it even if I did and the first 50 seconds was enough to make me get a few Beers ready myself

Man, Havlicek was a master at making tough shots. In every game of him that surfaces, he seems to make some shot which makes you think "lucky bastard", but when you do it that often, it's more than luck.

Exactly what I was thinking...We're probably even thinking of the same play from the OP videos....Do you happen to know the time? I'd like to post it here so if someone reading wants to see but doesn't have time to watch the entire game

That's basketball gold right there.

Edit: Just realised I made a mistake with the game date. Still an interesting game to watch.

Schayes, Greer, Kerr & Barnett vs Russell, Cousy, Jones, Heinsohn, etc.

Thanks for the link. I just watched the Celtics vs Royals game and look forward to another classic.
That's not the Celtics, it's Nationals VS Knicks. Seeing that 6 I thought it was Russell too for a second :lol

I think it was more than one shot in this game. I don't remember the time, I watched these videos yesterday. But I think he made at least one in the 1st half.

I feel you, unlucky kid...ISH, host of all thousands of unfortunate souls who would have been superstars in the 60's, but not a single one of them existed back then - and, to add insult to injury, the few ones who did exist, weren't even NBA scrubs. How could this have happened? What huge doses of basketball magic did fate keep away from us... :(

You're not even remotely close to being a superstar while playing alone in your backyard :lol

Oscar Robertson: 34 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists on 11/25 FG 12/13 FT

Jerry Lucas: 22 points, 17 rebounds

Bill Russell: 8 points, 26 rebounds

Dominant performances by Oscar and Lucas and the Royals still got blown out. That was a very good Celtics team.
