View Full Version : Favorite players from teams you don't root for?
Even though I pull for Houston, I can't help but to like Duncan and Dirk.
As far as my favorite though, have to say Steph Curry or John Wall.

Interesting list...
Really? How come?
I really enjoy stars who play good defense and especially those who can play in the post. All I really look for in role players is hustle and defense, which so few seem to be able to do at a high level.
I'd probably add Davis to that list, even though I don't watch him much (I wasn't exactly looking out for Pelicans games last year). :oldlol:

It always tastes like what I imagine fecal matter tastes like to say something nice about a Boston Celtic, but Rajon Rondo is a guilty pleasure of mine from a basketball perspective.
Not only do I admire his skills as a PG, but also his intensity on the court as a competitor. I'd take him on my team in a heartbeat.
If Russell Westbrook ever matures and becomes more consistent, he could be another one. His emotions take him into the 'tool-zone' a little too often for my taste, which takes him out of his game at times. He has potential though.
Shane Battier. Hard not to like Shane. Good role player, and generally a high class individual.
Ron Artest. Although he did play for the Lakers, and I liked him during that time, however I really gained respect for him in the playoff series when he played for the Rockets against the Lakers. Ron did a LOT of work to get to where he (now) is from whence he came.
Damien Lillard. Intense and talented competitor. I think he's headed for super-stardom if Portland can get their sh!t together. . . . or he goes elsewhere.
Mo Williams. Got to see him play live when he was with the Clippers. He didn't always make the play he was going for, but that dude leaves it all on the floor. I respect his competitive spirit.
Steph Curry. Super smooth and talented, and kind of feisty. 'Twas a shame to separate him from Monta Ellis.
Marcin Gortat. Plays a very good team-first type of game. Not perfect, but gives all he's got.
I could never root for the LA Clippers since I have been an NBA fan since 1991.
Even when Brent Barry was on it, even when CP3 was traded there, even after the whole tokowitz fiasco.
Clippers are my least favorite franchise of all the NBA.
That said, I really dig Jamal Crawford's game. If there was a 1 on 1 sub league in the nbay, he would be top 3. His jump shot is pretty darn sweet too.

Just didn't think anyone liked to watch several of those guys....
P. Gasol, Pek, strange to hear they have admirers.

Most of the players I like are on teams I root for or at least enjoy doing well. The only three players I can think that are on teams that I completely don't give a shit about are Jeff Teague, Ty Lawson, and Boogie.
