View Full Version : Isn't Irving and Wiggins alone better than anything Bran had in CLE before?

Not sure why y'all Nikkas think Kevin Love is the deal breaker. I'd rather play with Wiggins if I was Bran, he will take miles off Bran's legs. Love is another defensive liability who will add miles to Bran's legs.
What's more, when did it become the norm that Bran needs two other superstars to roll with, has he become that much of a p*ssy?

Lebron would have to be willing to wait at least one year before he goes for the title that way.
Lebron's better off signing a 1 year deal with Miami with a player option in year 2 and waiting to see how the Cavs develop if they refuse to get Love or another superstar player with their assets.
No reason for Lebron to throw away a year of true contending for the title at this point in his career.

Bron would win a title in Cleveland hands down if he went back to Cleveland right now. No waiting for anything. That team is far more traditional, and well rounded than any team in Miami he has played on.
People made it sound like it was easy in Miami, and winning was easy in Miami, but the fact is, Wade and Bosh looked very average at times in the playoffs, and the lack of size in Miami's team almost always made it an uphill battle. It'd be fun to watch Bron back on a team with decent bigs and no problem crashing the boards. I think people would appreciate how good he actually is even more so than they do now.

Nah...they are at least 1 full year away.
Lebron on the current Cavs is not winning the title. They might get out of the East, but they aren't beating the Spurs or Thunder.
It would take injuries, in my opinion, to get the Cavs the title.
The Cavs would be heavily relying on a ton of guys that have never even played a playoff game before nor even close to reaching their potential. Sorry, but that isn't winning shit given the state of the current league...even with Lebron.

I agree to an extent but Cavs roster is full of guys with no playoff experience. Unless they added a few vets it is hard to imagine them winning championship right away even as great as Lebron is without going through some trials and tribulations.

"Experience" is overrated and always has been. The better team wins usually, and that has been the case most of the time. Although Kyrie is overrated, you'd have a guy like Dion stepping off the bench, and a soon to be superstar like Wiggins who can get out and run and is a great defender already.
You have legit bigs who can rebound and block shots as well. Not to mention it's a great shooting team.

And the Thunder and Spurs would be better teams...hate to break it to you. You are over-rating the shit out of that roster. Hell, it might be a full 2 years away with no trade from actually having a legit chance to win with Lebron.

For all that experience he had in Cleveland before he left, nothing came of it. This team is better than that one, by a decent margin, and they are younger, fresher and more well rounded.
I'm not overrating anything. Just about any team with Bron on there becomes a title favourite, and this Cavs team is particularly decent with continually developing young talent on their roster, all about to reach ages with where their prime coincides.
To answer OP's question. Yes, offensively this Cavs team would be way better than his old teams.
But those old Cavs teams are way to underrated on the defensive end. This team would be nowhere near it.

I dunno how Cavs fans could get excited about this. It's a little early to stunt Wiggins' growth as a player. Kyrie, I understand since he's had ample time to prove himself and I guess it's time to make him a spotup shooter. Not sure if I'm ready to ruin Wiggins career by recruiting bran back to the team. In 2-3 years, everyone will be making threads about how Wiggins is done and no one should pay him more than $8 million.

You are making it sound like it's either experience or talent. LOL...
And yes, you are over-rating the shit out of somebody on the Cavs
Irving
Waiters/Wiggins
Lebron/Bennet
Thompson
Andy V./Zeller
No doubt that is a team loaded with talent, but it's not overwhelming enough to win the title this coming season.
You don't actually believe this...you can't.
Now, throw in Kevin Love, Dieng, and Martin from the proposed trade I offered...and then you have a team capable of winning right now.

Im sure Irving-Waiters-Wiggins would be better than Gibson-Hughes-Pavlovic. Frontcourt wouldnt be that different.

Thompson + Verajao would also be miles ahead of Bosh+Birdman. (for rebounding and defense)

True, Verajao may be a better man defender than Bosh since Bosh's help defense isn't really needed as much with Lebron. Especially when you consider the weak side block possibility with Lebron.
Thompson would be better at boxing out while Birdman is better at crashing in on the boards.
