I haven't really killed Melo on anything because it's his decision. Lakers would puzzle me, but I see it. Of course if rather the knicks. Rockets are an ill fit but I get that too. Chicago is the best fit but the money sucks. So I see that either way it shakes.

But Miami? Not somewhere else as a new duo with Lebron, but literally becoming Bosh? Bosh goes off to have more of a role and Melo goes to the one place where him winning a title won't be attributed to him at all? Where if they win, Lebron is king but if they lose Melo dragged him down?

You can accuse Melo of a lot, but I never though he'd become a beta to deflect media criticism over losing. I really hope that's not it because that's sad. It's essentially what everyone accused Lebron of with Wade, except its true.

Did I miss something? Melo isn't coming here. We're not even in the top 3 of teams he's going to. He can do whatever the hell he wants anyways.

its gonna be funny to see Niko hate on Melo like he did to Lin :lol

btw i doubt Melo is gonna be discredited. If anything the haters will refer to him as the new "closer" and clutch player like they did to wade the first year of the big 3

No, Melo doesn't get respect like that. He'll be the butt of the joke. Melo found a way to win, by carrying lebrons luggage.

eh, not really. Its not like Melo is not as good of a scorer as bosh...

With Lebron he'd probably average 25+ppg still. plus hed probably be the go to man in the clutch

Not to mention Wade will probably play even less

You should ubderstand. Melo will be used Lin like in Miami. Bad fit, not allowed to play to his strengths, and be blamed when things go south.

I understand your biased as **** against anything NY but Melo would do just fine with Lebron.

Mia would have to renounce their 2 signings today just to get Melo. Better chance that Lebron comes to NY than Melo going MIA at this point. Not to mention he would take over wade's sidekick position and wade would be the bosh if by some miracle he did end up there.

He'd play fine. But it wouldn't allow him what is the point of this, the stamping of his legacy. What exactly is impressive about winning on a team that went to the finals FOUR years in a row?

Melo as role player, smh...

SOOOO did you not watch the all-star game and the Olympics, Melo is one of the best catch and shoot players in the game.

Was Wade a role player in the 2011 and 2012 finals?

The reason why stars are teaming up more then ever is because idiots like %75 of people here constantly hate on them and put them down if they don't win it all whether or not they have in the past or how they played, can blame yourselves

And this guys are the on who's going to criticize them if they fail to win an NBA title as the lone scoring options for the Knicks.

I actually think Melo was in a much better situation in Denver. That team advanced in the conference finals in 2009. I know the west was not that strong during that season, but he had better teammates in Denver.

everyone knows how to play the Center position.

but only few who do it well.

Bosh pulled off some "the greatest game ever played" shiet twice in four seasons apparently.

1 LA Lakers 65 17
2 Denver 54 28
3 San Antonio 54 28 .
4 Portland 54 28
5 Houston 53 29
6 Dallas 50 32
7 New Orleans 49 33 .
8 Utah 48 34

Pretty close to what was goin on this season.

Melo probably thought that was capable of carrying a team if he played in the eastern conference.

Top 4 eastern conference teams played some solid defense. I actually think Melo wasted his prime playing for the Knicks. Amare got injured. and Chandler didn't fit with their system.

Bosh is a high post scorer. Even back in his toronto days. Tim Duncan is a natural center. And at age 39 is still one of the best low post scorers in the league.

He still got time, many of the 10-30 greats didn't have much success until after 30

Hakeem
Malone
Stock
Ewing
KG
Dirk

add Kobe to the lists. He was 31 yrs.old when he won his first finals MVP. I think he was top 25-30 before he won his first MVP in 2008, and first finals MVP in 2009.

lol you are dumb as a solid rock.
Melo would score around as much as Bran probably even more in some series.
he would improve his defense, he would win more games, he would improve his legacy.
its no shame being Nr.2 to LeBron:coleman:

Definitely dont' see Melo being relegated to a Bosh role as a spot up shooter basically, I don't care if he were playing with MJ. Melo has a scorer's mentality. He will demand the ball and he will get his shots off.....There will be times also where he will grab the rebound and push it up himself.....

oh the horror

Once again people are falling in love with the names and fail to pay attention to the style in which players play.

And Melo wouldn't get any blame if they fail?

Melo/LeBron make sense. More sense than LeBron/Wade ever did and Bosh came into a team to play a CLEAR third fiddle role behind LeBron/Wade. Melo won't win a ring by himself unless he's on a stacked team. He probably knows that and is teaming up with what appears to be a really good friend.

It sucks but it's the way of the league. Players force themselves out of small markets to play for the bright lights, they team up, it's how things are going to go. Might as well get use to it.

LeBron will play the Magic role if he's teamed up with Melo. Melo could even average more points a game, LeBron will go triple double hunting. He'll dominate the ball and it won't kill Melo's game like it did Wade. He'll be the second best player behind LeBron. He'll be treated like a number 2 option. If they succeed he'll get his dues, esp for buying into a team concept. If they fail it'll be Melo isn't a winner blah blah etc.

He stays in NY IMO. Too much money to pass up and I think Melo was always more concerned with the market rather than building something like Miami.

Miami won't have the money unless Wade is taking like 10 million or less.

Which would make absolutely no sense for him to opt out of 43 million over 2 years, to take a new deal starting at 10. Melo to Miami just ain't happening.

Seriously. I don't know how anybody could think that. He still got up 25 a game playing with Allen Iverson. Worst case is he's a 22/7 player, but most likely settles at 25 a game. Problem with LeBron/Wade is they both dominate the rock and initiate the offense. They don't maximize eachothers talents. Wade had to adapt to the superior player and become less useful for it.

With Melo LeBron can still do his thing and to maximize Melo's talents you just need to get him 18-20 shots. He's probably the most versatile scorer in the game. Posting up, spot up shooting, ISO, driving, drawing fouls etc. it would be easy and honestly probably lets LeBron play what comes natural to him.
