View Full Version : Aldridge won't sign extension with Portland until next summer

Hey Yo

Aldridge said it makes most sense financially to wait because he can sign for more years (5) and make more money ($108 million) next year.

Aldridge: "I'm happy to stay (in Portland), happy to be here, happy with the direction the team has gone the last year or 2. But I just want to get a 5-year deal. I feel like that's the best decision on my part."

Aldridge said he wants to finish his career in Portland. One reason why: "I want to be the best Blazer. Ever."

The Blazers reportedly offered Aldridge a maximum contract back in June. If Aldridge signed this summer, he could only earn $55.5 million over three years. If he waits to sign until next summer, he can receive $108 million over five years.

Randle is better and way younger and cheaper. IMO.

Randle's better? :biggums:

LMA's a proven 23/11 guy with average defense. Randle's a rookie who put up 15/10 in college. He might end up better, but right now? Give me LMA 10/10 times :coleman:

One injury not going to change nothing, Amare and Gilbert Arena still get those contracts, Nerlens and Embiid still get drafted.

23/11 for the max

Or

18/10 for 3 million

Better for the money IMO

Oh, season's already over and Randle finished with 18/10? :coleman:

I see what you're saying, but as of now give me LMA 10/10 times. IF Randle finishes with an 18/10 rookie season, it'd be a debatable topic.

Too bad sub zero will probably be the best Blazer ever.

Damien reminds me of a better rose.

He'll never surpass Drexler or even Walton with 2 good season, but I like the spirit! Unless, of course, he brings a ring to the rose city... :coleman:

true.

but looking at who they have under contract next year.
it's not the worst move as the potential seems quite good.

both for the team and himself.
