Karasev is a wildcard. Rich pedigree. Great vision, iq and shooting, kinda on the skinny side though.

If the Cavs front office have confidence that they can get Lebron, then this is a good trade. If they are just doing this as a long shot to try to get Lebron, then I think it is too much to give up. Zeller is a decent backup, and there's the 1st round pick as well ...

Anyone know which 1st round pick the Cavs are trading ? They have three 1st round picks next year, their own, the Grizzlies' pick and the Heat's pick.
Would be hilarious if the Cavs traded the Heat's pick to clear space for Lebron :lol
On the other hand if the Cavs do get Lebron, then the Heat's 1st round pick would be a lot more valuable than the their own pick.

Boston gets: Marcus Thornton-Tyler Zeller, Cavs 2016 protected pick. Top 10 in '16, '17 or '18. Unprotected in '19.
According to WOJ.
Very valuable pick if LeBron stays in Miami - if not and he goes to the Cavs, probably in the 25-30 range in 2016.
Fantastic trade from the Celtics - Ainge has assets coming out of his arse now. Something has to be afoot.

No, it's not hard at all NOT to be because they have no realistic chance at winning. KG is done as an impact player, Pierce is reportedly seeking $10mill, Blatche is gone, so is Livingston, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are declining quickly...
With all of the above in mind, they still decide to add salary in exchange for a pick. That's just crazy. It just seems they don't care about the future because neither ownership nor management plan to remain there to endure it.
EDIT: It seems it's the Cavs' pick instead of the Nets', I guess it is not so bad then

So WTF are the Nets doing? Are they still in win-now mode? :facepalm
They don't have any other option. They gave up all their picks, so they can't rebuild through the draft. Atlanta can swap again next year, then the Celtics got dibs on unprotected picks in 2016 and 2018, as well as the Celtics being able to swap in 2017 too. Add in Deron and JJ for $20+ million each for the next couple of years, as well as Lopez at $15 million, they don't have any real financial flexability to sign anyone decent either.

Nothing is certain until it's written, but things are not looking good for Miami.
Even if LeBron is undecided, the situation is clearly "leaning" Cleveland right now, so the pressure is on Miami to do something big to flip the script.
That's why people are so confident that it's Cleveland. We see all kinds of activity on the Cleveland side, but Cleveland doesn't really need to do anything right now. It's Miami that should be making a huge move today. All Cleveland needs is for Miami not to come up with a spectacular save.

if they could somehow turn Bennet for Bargnani (don't know if NYK gets to save money even if the salary doesn't match and let the trade go through)
they may at least land Chris Bosh
Bosh/Bargnani/Thompson/Varejao
that might be better than the Bulls front court.
it might even be the best front court on the ECF.
then sign a few players like Dante Cunningham/ Crowder
if they don't get to keep Deng
anyone wants to make a case as to why the Cavs may be a better fit for Bosh than the Rockets?
trading former 1st picks sounds fair to me
Edit: playing Lebron at the PF spot, or even try and ask him to play the SF would again really ruin the new coache's offensive play since they now have to play Andy V at Center. and they would be right back at the Mike Brown era of offensive scheme and relying on Lebron's defensive impact on the front court to get past the ECF.

because they are not going to give up Wiggins. He's the guy to take Lebron's spot once he starts going down hill. You don't give up all your 1st round players and picks just to end up with Vets or guys that can't even get his team into the playoffs. Would end up in the Nets position. Lebron sure isn't getting any younger.
Yeah, but we don't know the specifics of the situation/ the negotiation ie how much LeBron is a done deal.
Perhaps they need to get Kevin Love before LeBron confirms, which puts pressure on them.

Plot twist: James Jones, Ray Allen and Mike Miller all sign with Cleveland with the understanding that Lebron will join them shortly after but the Cavs tell Lebron to fvck off at the last minute and sign Bosh and Ariza instead :lol

Why would Lebron go back to Cleveland. After how they treated him after they left? They so do NOT deserve it....fairweather fans.

Fair weather fans would of followed him to heat not been angry he left their team... What are you talking about?
WTF!!! Celtics gave up nothing? :oldlol:
1st RD = Great
Zeller = Good prospect
Thornton = could be a 15 PPG on his best season. He sucked last year though.

Great trade for the Nets. If they sign and trade Peirce for Barnes, Dudley, Bullock and a first then they could be real contenders for Love or another star.

Celtics win this trade comfortably if that's case.
To be honest, I still don't think he goes back.

They at least got rid of the Jack deal, but I liked Zeller. And a future first as well?
Jesus.
If Lebron doesn't come back...this shit is going to get ugly fast. Cleveland fans don't deserve this shit if that happens.

Well not really true. They spend all that cap space which most teams aren't willing to just give up right now. Don't get me wrong, it's totally a right place right time type thing but they are taking on all that cap that Cleveland is opening up...and it's pretty significant. I agree that this is perfect trade for them though. Might end up being perfect for cleveland too..we'll see. Nets getting Jack is very good for them.

Genius move by Boston. I really like Ainge as a GM.
Nets improved their team. Not sure why people are bashing that move? Karasev is a better player than Thornton, and Jack is a very good PG. One of the best, if not the best, backups in the league.
...and to get those pieces, they gave up only Thornton. Yeah.. really bad move, people.
Cleveland.. I like the attempt. I like what they're trying to accomplish. But what do they have if it doesn't work? They just gave up a 2012, 2013 and a 2016 first round pick, plus the aforementioned "best backup PG".

Giving up the pick sucks but Jack is garbage. I'm going to miss Karasev in 2k also.
