17/10 and a great passer--he could put the Bulls over the top along with Rose and the upgrades to the bench. However, at 34 how much does he have left in the tank?

[QUOTE]According to a source, the Bulls feel that if Anthony goes elsewhere, they are one of the leading candidates to land free-agent big man Pau Gasol

i don't see that team beating the cavs to be honest. still hinges too much on Rose especially on offense

There is no reason for the Bulls to not get Gasol. Who else has money and wants him?

Mentor Mirotic MMMMMMMMMMM

How much does PG still have left? Last season, I said that in the right system, he could be a great 2nd option...but again that was a year ago.

The Cavs haven't got Bron yet and I think he goes back to Miami.

But without Melo things hinge too much on Rose yes.

However a Noah, Gibson, Gasol, Mirotic rotation? Best big man rotation you'll find in the NBA if it happens.

What also was funny was watching Espn hype the Melo to La thing like it has any chance of happening :lol

Laughing at the Bulls when your team can't keep a guy like Dwight is also funny.

The great Dr Buss has passed, it's not the same over there in LaLa land. Enjoy mediocrity for a couple years!

Be a great fit for the Bulls if Gasol goes there...but man you can say that about any team adding Gasol.

Thunder...Heat...Mavs...etc. etc.

Dwight is a special case because the dude is a a$$ clown.

The Lakers can make a couple moves besides getting Melo that will have them back in the playoffs this year.

Lakers still have great minds in the FO outside of Jim Buss.

With the Bulls he would be the #2 scoring option but the third best player so there would be less pressure on him than he had during his heyday in LA.

The Bulls with Rose and Gasol should be better than Miami, although I would favor the Cavs over CHI if LeBron goes there, especially if they get Love.

Yes! Just what my Bulls need. An aging, slow footed, offense-only power forward.

Translation: Pau's agent is pretending Pau is interested Chicago in order to get The Lakers to offer him more money to stay.

Would rather have Frye. Gasol is good, though. Probably top 5-6 on my remaining FA list.

Dumb. Hes over the hill. Maybe a new situation will revitalize him but theyd still need more on offense than rose and 1 other 17 ppg scorer.

Gasol is best when he plays center...

Well, that is why he is their Plan B. Rose, Gasol, Mirotic, McBuckets would represent a significant offensive upgrade collectively.

Noah might have a tough time to even average over double digits in scoring.

If Derek Rose comes back healthy, this would be a great signing.

They won't be able to beat the Spurs/Thunders assuming they get past the ECF

he only put up 17 as the only offensive option on a terrible team

hes more of a 13/10 guy on a playoff team

gasol is done. horrible defense, *****, and is getting old. only thing he offers is some decent offense from time to time. he is barely starter quality anymore.

when you run the pick and roll with him, he's better at passing the ball low post than outside for the 3 (unless other team is closing in on your low post player already) because he isn't so much of a 2 point high post shooting specialist, but he's very effective if there's just enough room for him to dribble and hook, or a simple, pass and run towards the basket for the finish.

Randle probably won't get enough respect from opposing team from the get go, and opposing teams would rather let him have the ball or dare Pau for the shot. which means if the Lakers don't sign a superstar, they'd need shooters to stretch the floor before Randle develops enough post move in the NBA.

as that changes, it's going to open up a lot more room for the veterans who can really hit that 10-16 footers. players like Brian Grant/Joe Smith used to live off of those shots and had a career out of it until the everyone started shooting the 3 and placed a high emphasis on high percentage 3 point shots.

Yep. If Melo and Love don't work then go after Gasol and try and go after Lance Stephenson.

C: Noah/Gasol
PF: Taj/Mirotic
SF: Butler/McDermott
SG: Stephenson/Hinrich
PG: Rose/Augustin

If LeBron goes back to Cleveland, I think we would see Chicago vs. Cleveland in the ECF next season.

I wanted Gasol more than Kobe back when Kobe demanded out of LA. Not because he was better....because he would be less costly and fill a need.

Ive always wanted him on the Bulls.

Cavs should forget Love, keep Wiggins, and sign Gasol.

Ugh! Not him, anyone but him. He is absolutely useless on both sides of the floor other than some passing and rebounding. Can't back down his defender or shoot from the mid-rage anymore. Horrible defender too. He will be overpaid if he doesn't take the vet minimum no matter where he goes.

If we can't get Melo, I want Stephenson. A very talented and athletic knucklehead is better than anything we have at the SG position.

I don't understand people hating on Gasol. He's better than Boozer in every way except for rebounding. If I recall, we did OK with Boozer. Now, imagine Gasol comes cheaper (anything above 10m is rewarding him for his career/name, not what he brings to the table)? Instantly a better team.

Gasol's not my first choice to be a PF/C signing, I'll give you that. But he's a clear improvement.

He can't guard power forwards anymore and isn't much of a rim protector so it is difficult to keep him on the court for 30+minutes without his defensive limitations offseting his obvious offensive value.

Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah are excellent guys to play next to him though.

He would be perfect coming off the bench and playing with Mirotic.

Dont want, we have solid bigs now and I want McBuckets off the bench if we sign Sir lance.
