A game in which the other team controlled most of the second half and overtime. Argentina was rewarded for playing not to lose.

Soccer is a ridiculously flawed sport.

Flawed analysis of what happened. Argentina were the better team in regulation and had more chances. The Dutch controlled the game flow more in extra time however. Neither team was able to seperate itself from the other in terms of performance and the score reflected that.

Not in the playoffs.

Remember when Donovan McNabb thought ties can't happen in a regular season game:lol

pro soccer used to be a incredibly broken sport. i'm sure most people know this but new soccer fans don't. before all of the quick yellow and red cards, there used to be penalties and stoppages galore. ridiculous hacking, and marking top players extremely physically, to the point the whole game was so choppy and top players were more marginalized.

then they instituted the whole quick yellow, red, and sit out a match which toned down the stoppages and all of that a ton.

its a lot better game now but still has issues. i hate shootouts, when i was little i thought they were cool but they're just lame now. maybe they should change a few more game mechanics to make it more appealing....

0-0 could mean great defense, it could mean incredible goalie stops, it could mean several exciting opportunities that never fully materialized. Soccer is not a game to just look at a box score and make a determination. You need to actually watch it. And if you don't enjoy watching it that's fine, but other people will still enjoy it.

You could say that about any sport.

Not baseball :lol

Baseball fans are notorious box score watchers and computer nerds.

Soccers on the opposite end of the spectrum where you need to actually see the game and sometimes even just focus on an individual to understand what happened. Basketball is in the middle of this spectrum imo.
